Digging Deeper into COVID-19

I have been fully vaccinated, as has my family members. We all got the Moderna (two shot) vaccine and yes, the second shot made me feverish and achy for about 36 hours. A good sign that the first shot had geared up my immune system to fight this disease.
So now we all are safe from experiencing a life threatening response to being exposed to the virus, BUT WE CAN STILL GET IT if exposed. This is how all vaccines work, they train your immune system to be much more effective at killing off a specific virus after you've contracted it.
So yes, I can still get it, and I can pass it along to someone who is not vaccinated which is why I wear a mask when indoors and around other people. It is out of respect for other people and to protect their health and safety that I wear a mask, but I'm just that kind of guy.
Today the CDC is advising that the relative chance of getting and passing along the virus by fully vaccinated individuals is very low, but it is not zero chance. Those who wear a mask are doing so out of respect to others, and while I admit that they are annoying, fog up my glasses, and make talking difficult, I prefer that over giving someone else a death sentence or a lifetime of medical problems related to Covid. But perhaps the larger concern, the worry that keeps many virologists working overtime to study this virus is the fact that with every new infection this virus is possibly able to mutate into a variant that is much more deadly, and may eventually become immune to the vaccine. Should that happen, we'll be starting all over again with economic closings, social distancing, and awaiting a new vaccine that may or may not be as effective. An ounce of prevention.......
I know a Covid long haul sufferer, and that is not something I'd wish on anybody.

So you think mask wearers are wearing one out of respect for me. I disagree its out of fear there gonna catch the Kung flu.
RESPECTis a 2 way street, I respect everybody's right to wear or not to wear just like I do to carry or not to carry its what this country was founded on, ITS CALLED FREEDOM or used to be anyway

That's great and I appreciate your concern for fellow human beings. Take the Vacine and you still might get it or pass it to someone. Wear the mask or not and you might get it or pass it on.

The government is picking up the tab for covid hospitalizations and now funeral expenses up to $9000. The covid on the death certificate allows the hospitals to be paid. Although this has skewed the numbers as some of you have pointed out I think it preferable to handing a surviving spouse or family a $250,000 or larger bill. Can you imagine the long term outlook of being saddled with that king of unforgiven debt no matter the persons age. The horrible, untrusting government is saving a lot of peoples asses. Do you think that the government should back you up, guaranteeing you wont be saddled with debt after you refuse to take a vaccine that the government paid to develop? It is your right to refuse to mask and not vaccinate. It should be my right to not have to pay for your decision. Tell me you will pay for your own medical bills if you end up hospitalized and I will agree with your logic. Our best bet at avoiding what is happening in the rest of the world and possibly returning to a normal way of life is subject to us getting vaccinated. About half of the replies on this subject have a political statement attached to them and that tells me why you are responding the way you do. It has been made political and it just shouldn't be. Now is the time to pull together, be patriots and put country ahead of self.
Here we are, fighting with each other. Exactly what the enemy wants. Lets get to the bottom of where, why and how the virus got loose. So it doesn't happen again. Just heard a group in China are bragging that they won the biological war of 2020. WTH does that mean? One thing for sure, our enemies, both within and without, know exactly how to bring us to our knees. And it was done with mostly propaganda. The Dem should show as much interest in Covid 19 as they do in Jan 6. Jan 6 was a "mostly peaceful demonstration", Covid 19 may be the beginning of the end of our Republic!

Actually having the Government pay (that would be you and me) the hospitals and funeral parlors is an un-needed extra benefit to the mandated health insurance companies.
I do not remember there being a Covid exemption in my latest policy. So those payments are a bail out to the insurance companies.
Again it's follow the money. We are forced to have insurance, that apparently has no Covid meaning. Then we get to pick up the tab for the only disease I'm aware of that, has government sponsored payments.
All of a sudden, death by cold and flu all but disappears from the United States and there is a significant reduction in other top 10 causes of death. Who benefits?
Insurance companies, hospitals, lobbyists, politicians and the latest welfare group, funeral parlors..
If you substitute "you and me" for every time you wrote "government pays" and it does not chap your ass, we will never see the problems or solutions to this mess the same.

I agree, however we have a more fundamental problem. Those who support massive government spending do not perceive the "and me" portion of your substitution. In fact, one groups sales pitch specifically exempts the "and me" in favor of the other guy/gal footing the bill. Anyone who does not know who that other guy/gal is need look no further than the nearest mirror.

Don't want to rehash the political part of this because again the country is split about 50/50 and nothing we say will change the other sides opinion. But parts of the government and the manipulation of facts is responsible for what's going on.
We as American citizens have to "pay" for many things we don't agree with.
Abortion
Illegal immigration
Health care for those who don't have it
Immigrants being brought in and given more money and assistance than many of the folks who have to work for a living.
The mask restrictions have been lifted where I live so I am back to the shooting threads.
Manipulation and diversion is all that this was set up to do. That’s all that the elitist Hollywood media is, just a diversion to keep the masses from realizing what is actually happening to their livelihood!
Just another one not everyone thinks about what about taxes that support schools etc. I don’t have any kids
