Hard to fathom that youngsters overestimate their risk by a factor of 10. The "shock and awe" (my spin) explantion discussed only goes so far in my mind.
Thanks, Captain Obvious! But, what qualifies as an "underlying health issue" in the postmortem? Diabetes obviously does. Somewhat elevated fasting blood glucose almost certainly not. And that's a main point of the finding. Catching the FBG early and adjusting treatment accordingly could save a lot of Covid-19 patients.News Flash.... Covid 19 kills people with underlying health issues.
There were aspersions cast on the essay I recently posted here from an allergist in CO regarding outdoor transmission. Today I received personal advice from my physician, who is associated with a "concierge" medical practice called MDVIP of which I am a client. (That means I'm paying good money for said advice.) I quote the portion related to outdoor activity:
Indoors vs. Outdoors
There is growing consensus among experts (including the CDC) that being outside is safer than being inside. This bodes well if you want to play golf, walk your dog in a park or even go to the beach or the mountains. Why do scientists consider outdoors safer? There's more air to dilute coronavirus, meaning your exposure is less. Second, there's usually more space and it's easier to maintain six feet of distance.
In fact, in a Chinese study of 7,324 coronavirus cases, only one traced back to an outdoor encounter. But that doesn't mean the risk is zero. Crowded outdoor spaces carry risk as do long conversations with other people in close quarters.
Since baseball stadiums are closed, and I don't choose to participate in weekend warrior contact sports like flag football, soccer, or rugby, my task of avoiding crowded outdoor spaces is a simple one.

I'm a golfer. Ain't I got a sense of humor? My question to the medical expert would be, why would anyone play golf when one could do a round of Sporting Clays instead?
OK, guess the golfers won't find that funny. They don't have a sense of humor.![]()

Not peer reviewed but "immunologists said it was a reputable preliminary analysis on the longevity of COVID-19 antibodies."
Basically antibodies decline within months, and risk of reinfection increases especially if you had little or no symptoms as the size of the antibody response scales with infection severity.
In other news, Florida is going for gold!! (The good news is that, while still elevated, % positivity from testing has fallen in the last couple of days.)
Last evening on my exercise route I encountered another poor soul, a young woman, very overweight, out walking in the latest spandex yoga wear. I give her credit for waging the battle against obesity. But, with a 20 mph wind, 85f temp, and not a soul within 40 yards of her, she was wearing a face mask.

Even without antlers she could ruin your whole week.Spirit Lake, about 30 miles north of Coeur d'Alene.
A moose got mad at me once after taking a photo of her and her calf in my yard. Had to take off running. It's interesting living up here. LOL
