Cleaning Scope Lens-What To Use

First I use a squeeze bulb to remove as much dust as I can, followed by a very soft brush. Next I fold some lens tissue into a tight roll and tear the end off to so that I am not wiping with a single thickness of the tissue. Effectively this turns the tissue bundle into a very soft brush, to which I apply some lens cleaner, and a drop or two on the lens. The biggest problems are if there is some grease or oil on a lens from being inadvertently touched by a finger. for that I may use some isopropyl alcohol, sparingly, with a lens cleaning cloth, this after getting everything off of the lens with the previous steps, except the oil or film of grease. Luckily my scopes do not get dusty in my safe. I use a very fine furnace filter to remove allergens, and only open the safe when removing or returning a rifle. I have recently thought that I may make some caps to sit on the objective lenses of scopes that do not have caps, I will make these from the cardboard from the back of a tablet, Making them deep enough that they will stay in place as I handle a rifle in close to vertical position. After using a lens cleaning cloth, I wash and rinse it, before letting it dry and putting it away. None of my scopes have any wipe marks on their lenses.

From the camera bag......Nikon squeeze bulb, brush, and wipes.
The wipes are similar to what Night Force sends out with a new
scope. Hit up up your local camera shop, or go online to B&H

I believe there's a article on here about a shooter that used canned air on his scope and it shattered his lens.
Trick is to not have the nozzle very close like 1-2" from 6+" distance you have less chance of the liquefied compressed air to come out and freeze the lens. also, as Moondog mentioned give it a quick squirt to make sure only air is coming out.
I blow the lens off then use Sightron's or eyeglasses wipes to clean using a circular monition starting at the center then working outward. and finally use Kleenex to wipe off the lens. been using this method for years and never scratched a lens. I read about this method can't remember if it was a scope or camera lens maker who recommended it.

I never have used canned air. I use a babies (snot sucker) give it a couple squeezes, then a lens pen brush and last Ziess wipes.

Blow out the big stuff then High grade Acetone with good Cotton Q-tips. Start in the center work your way out. Never let the Q tip get dry, never use it twice.

Q-tips water, Q-tips alcohol circular motion use bottled water 70% alchohol, video on youtube cleaning camera lenses I use same method, use Lense brush for dirt or rinse with water spritz style

Leupold tech told me to use acetone with a q-tip. 70% alcohol is 30% water. Will leave a film. If you gonna use alcohol use 91-99% . Evaporates almost immediately. According to Leupold that is.
