Trick is to not have the nozzle very close like 1-2" from 6+" distance you have less chance of the liquefied compressed air to come out and freeze the lens. also, as Moondog mentioned give it a quick squirt to make sure only air is coming out.I believe there's a article on here about a shooter that used canned air on his scope and it shattered his lens.
I never have used canned air. I use a babies (snot sucker) give it a couple squeezes, then a lens pen brush and last Ziess wipes.Trick is to not have the nozzle very close like 1-2" from 6+" distance you have less chance of the liquefied compressed air to come out and freeze the lens. also, as Moondog mentioned give it a quick squirt to make sure only air is coming out.
I blow the lens off then use Sightron's or eyeglasses wipes to clean using a circular monition starting at the center then working outward. and finally use Kleenex to wipe off the lens. been using this method for years and never scratched a lens. I read about this method can't remember if it was a scope or camera lens maker who recommended it.

Watch out for the scope seals. Acetone does not play well with mostBlow out the big stuff then High grade Acetone with good Cotton Q-tips. Start in the center work your way out. Never let the Q tip get dry, never use it twice.
I dust off and then use them.
Nothing. What’s wrong with packaged and sterile eye glass lens cleaner ?
