This is my ‘67 Malibu. I have had it since 1991. I have reincarnated it several times, I just about have it where I want it.

the engine is a 540 based on a Dart Big M block. AFR 290 CNC heads, Hyd Roller cam, 234/244 at .050, .675 lift. 10 to 1 Compression, Mahle Pistons, SCAT 4340 crank, Calles Rods. Holley HP multi port fuel injection.

transmission is a TCI 6x 6 speed automatic, 3000 stall converter with overdrive lock up.

rear end is a 12 bolt built by Pyle Brothers with Eaton TruTrac, Moser Axels, Ford ends, 3.32 gears.

Brakes are 4 wheel Wilwood disc with a HydraTech HydraBoost.

cooling is a 32 inch Wide BeCool aluminum radiator with twin 13 inch Spal Fans.

Suspension is Hotchkis. Headers are Lemons 2 1/4 going into a TorqueTech 3.5 X pipe through Walker Super Dynomax Mufflers.

and more.

As you can see, I am on a quest to spend $300,000 to have a $30,000 car

One of the current cars. This was my grandfathers...1976 El Camino Classic he bought almost new I do believe...only car I ever remember him driving. He passed away and it sat in my grandmothers garage for about 12 years. I ended up buying it and cleaning it up. Stock original 305 3bbl.

Newest project I found sitting next to a barn. 1966 Dodge Coronet 500 383 4bbl car. This is how I found it.

Not much different that I found it except for clean up a little and put the engine back in it.

Of coarse it has a 12.5-1 440 with alum heads and a 850 carb,727 trans with a PTC 9.5" converter and 3.91 gears.

That Cornet is awesom. My cousin has our Pap's 70 GTX that he bought new in 70. He traded the 67 GTX on the new one. Both were 440 magnums, 70 auto 67 4spd.

Update on my 1973 Z-28.......

After owning the car for 45 years, this month is the 2 year anniversary of selling my car back in June of 18. No real regrets, as it went to a good home.

When it sold, I had 29,9xxx miles on it, and the buyer didn't even want to drive it around the block, as he didn't want to break the 30K mark. He still has not broken the barrier.

Last week he sent me an update. The car has been invited to be put on display at the Gilmore Car Museum in Hickory Corners, Mi., as they are building a special muscle car collection. It will be there for about a year.

The new owner did replace the T/A radials I had on it, for the reproduction Firestone Wide Ovals that were OEM when new.

I don't have any pictures anymore to show. But when I was a kid in the 80's. My pap and gram had a 4th party at their house. They had alot of paved back road frontage. My gram hated that party. The family aways parked in the yard by the road and it looked like a small car show. Along with the fact when one would leave we all left. The evidence of us leaving was on the road for weeks. Here is a list of cars that were there on average year. Over the years one or two would change a little. There's one or two I can't remember anymore.

70 GTX
36 Plymouth street rod
70 Buick Stage 1
Monte Carlo 454
66 Nova SS
63 Sport Fury 413
48 Sedan Delivery

After I posted the picture of my Track Pack Mustang GT 5.0 earlier in this thread, I remembered that back in the early 1970s I did own a muscle car that I bought as a grocery hauler for my wife because she liked it, I just never thought of it as a muscle car, since it was the basic Road Runner with a 4bbl 383, not a 426 Hemi or a 440 wedge. Weighed more than the Mustang and had about 100 less horsepower, but it did move out quite briskly when you nudged the gas, and my late wife really liked it - first car she ever drove with a "real" engine. :) I liked it too, but I would have preferred a Hemi.

This is going to sound crazy but would love to find a 65 falcon 2 door hard top with a standard set up in it. I will build the motor. I had a Futura , well still have one that is extremely rough so I want a clean body. Mine was a original 4 speed car with a 4 barrel 289 which was replaced with a fresh 302 by the previous owner and had a clutch explosion which broke the bosses off the block. Anyways I always really liked that car because of the factory chopped top.

Thanks for all the memories--born and raised in Deee-troit in the 50's and 60's. Remember racing up and down Woodward Ave. -had a 66 1/2 Mustang-stock everything-and never, ever could keep up with the big iron - lots of Hemi powered stuff and over powered Chevy's back then that could flat out scream.
Now my go to vehicle is a 4x4 big azzed tractor to work the fields-lacks 0-60 times but does have torque LOL

Would I LOVE a new (2020) Vette? You bet your sweet bippy. However the 5 miles of dirt/gravel roads to get to paved says no-had a 94 Vette for one year before I realized that I was tearing it up just getting out from the farm to a real road--still miss the pure joy of hitting the throttle and being pushed back in the seat.

Thanks again for the trip down my past.

Gary

Problem now is, go out for A drive and break something and first you have to find the replacement part, hopefully one for the exact replacement (I was able to find a new in the box top for my Vette with the same Month Manufacture code in the stock room of a Chevy Dealer in Oklahoma, but I hate to say what I paid for it as well as the replacement Davidson water overflow container) then pay for it and then install it, all to take a Sunday drive of 20 miles. Nice to look at, but then there is the getting gas. I am running 100 LL Aviation fuel, which has about the same amount of lead as regular Sunoco 260 had in the day and about the same octane. Better than Corn Additives messing up all the hoses.

I've had a few over the years, nothing but a few parts in the garage now. The first was a '66 Mustang, 289 mit der 3 speed transmission. Then a '67 Fairlane with a 390 and auto trans. After that was a '69 Fairlane Cobra with a 428 CJ Ram Air with a 4 speed. This was followed up by a '68 Chevelle SS396 with a 4 speed. Then a '69 Corvette with a 427 and a 4 speed. Then came a '73 Camaro RS with a 350 and a 4 speed. After that came several years of basic transportation (kids will do that). When the kidlings got a little older I picked up an /83 Fox body Mustang with a 5.0 4 bbl and a 5 speed (really quick and handled great). There were and are several 4 wheel drive pick ups and SUVs scattered in amongst the list also. The absolute baddest of all those listed was the '69 Fairlane Cobra, the '69 427 Vette was nothing much compared to this car. I used to street race it quite a bit and only got beat once (it was a built up 340 Plymouth Duster with slicks and a line lock). The parts patiently taking up space in my garage are a 460 Ford truck block, 2 sets of open chambered big valve heads and an Eagle steel stroker crank (500+ inch). I need rods, piston, intake, cam and accessories plus something to put it in.
I had a few too, 63 Impala SS 409/4spd w/factory dual quads, replaced that with a 69 SS/396 Chevelle with no engine, trans, or back seat just before heading off to basic for my USAF career in '77. Put a stout 365hp 327/T-10 in it and surprised a lot of cars with that combo. Sold that car just before I got married replacing it with a 72 F-250 2wd. Converted that truck to 4wd after we came back from Japan in early '83 and finished just before I got orders to NV. Money was tight with a mortgage, 2 kids, on E-5 income. No more muscle cars until early '86 while in NV when I bought an R-code, '69 Cobra Fairlane, 428CJ/C6, bucket seats, column shift (odd combo) for $1000 and drove it home. I bought it purely for the engine to put in my truck but used as my daily driver for 6mos. Got so far as pulling the engine and freshening it up before I came to my senses realizing what I had, so sourced a 429/C6, built both, and put them in my truck. Still have the truck (now my son's) and the Fairlane, which sits in my shop waiting for restoration. The engine/trans are what it left the factory with, verified by the partial VINs stamped on block and trans tailshaft.

The one I miss most was my first build while in HS, '46 Ford P/U, y-block 292, 312 heads, Mallory dual point, lumpy reground cam, fender well headers hand fabbed by Art Morrison himself when he still had his old shop on the hill in Fife, WA (had to be late '73 or early '74). Wasn't really fast, high 15s in 1/4, but was cool.

I agree. The mid ‘60’s Falcons and Mercury Comets are just a neat looking car.

My daughter-in-law inherited two '55 Chevys, a Bel Air and a Nomad. Both fully dolled up, right down to the fuzzy dice. She sold the Nomad quickly (too quickly) and brought the Bel Air to Cruzin' the Coast and sold it there. ITMT I got to drive it up and down US-90. A small compensation for my assistance in selling the car.

Proper disposal of old drag radials.
