Classic car guys / hot rods

Rat Rod project

I have always wanted to look into doing a rod like that and put the radiator in the back with fans. When you drive down the road oncoming traffic would see that rad motor. What a wow factor. Think it would work ?

Caleb,

Great looking project.

I am currently looking at a 1957. Cadillac Fleetwood. I am on the fence with going for a complete resto or do a rat rod. I may need an engine like yours. If you could please give some specs on your project.

Thanks
Nick

She is a 67 for sure! And the as far as the Rat, the motor in the pictures is for a frame up ..not sure if going to ues it ..doubt it..I have a 12 valve 5.9 Cummins I am planning on putting in it.

That is AWESOME

Caleb , what does the vin number start with? That is a 66 trunk deck or I will eat it. By 67 they quit offering them for rent as all the motors got stolen out of them or drag raced to death.

I'm going to be getting a new paint job and new motor/tranny for my 94 GMC Sierra SLE Single Cab 1500. A few years ago I had the 350 bored out to a 400. Now that that motor has had about 180k miles on it, I'm looking at putting a 383 stroker, new paint job, iron cross bumper, couple inches of lift and some lighting.

Got me reminiscing about rides that I owned years ago. 71 Malibu, 73 Nova SS, 63 Tempest Lemans (yes the car that was mentioned in "My Cousin Vinnie" and led to the GTO), 73 Ventura Sprint. I found the 63 in 1982, picked it up for $200. It no longer had the original 326, but had a 69 455 installed. I was working at a Pontiac dealer at the time. One night leaving work, I stood on it. All the torque ripped the center hub out of the clutch disc.

Classic cars are as much fun and as much of a habit for me as guns. Here is a pic of my 69 XR7 Cougar Convertible,
Sorry for the two pics....

1936 Chevy Sedan Standard. Original 307 straight 6, 3 speed, double clutchin's slow as molasses in winter turtle! I have had this car for about 25 yrs, starting another restoration, so its current in progress, which is why its sitting on the lift. ;)

Maybe not classic but I've got a studabaker truck with a narrowed Dana 70 5.13 gears and a 572 Merlin block sitting in. I'm waiting on heads to get here from
Texas. Then the top end. It's more of a expensive hobby than shooting... Been on it for two years
