Case lube

I just sized 100 cases using Hobo Oil and I must say it worked really, really well. Next to none needed. Just enough to lightly "moisturize" (not wet) thumb and forefinger is enough. Such a small amount is needed that any residue, barely any to begin with, can simply be wiped off with a shop towel. I just put a tiny amount on right thumb and forefinger, pick up the brass by the neck with left hand, swirl it between right hand thumb and forefinger and put it straight into the press. Nothing on neck and shoulder.

A bottle of this stuff would last years and years even using it for lubricating bolts and anything else that needs to slide.

For any hard case forming or match loading definitely Imperial Die Wax.
For my "fun guns" where I want to load faster I wipe the carbon off the necks with a little Ballistol on a paper towel. The excess that gets on my fingers I quickly wipe over the rest of the case. I normally polish the inside of my full length dies to a mirror finish with Flitz or some other high grade polish. With the smooth finish on the dies that little bit of Ballistol is all it takes and I kill two birds with one stone. Then I throw the cases into an old vibratory tumbler filled with rice and after about 30 minutes I take the cases out and the lube is gone. The only drawback is on 6mm or smaller it takes a little effort to shake the rice (medium grain) out of the cases.

IF You haven't tried it , TRY it . Been using it now for 30 plus years and have Never had a failure and I do more than My fair share of Military cases . I've used everybody's concoctions at one time or another ,including making My own . As a former R&D Chemist ,I know how to make My own ,however this is convenient and far superior to any of those Bullet brand can sprays .

IF any of you have ever resized SAW 7.62x51mm or 5.56x45mm cases ,then you know how out of spec they can get . Properly applied this Boeshield T9 lube can smooth out FL resizing effort ,along with the added bonus of keeping your brass cleaner ( Yes Cleaner as well as lubed ) after firing sessions . One simply wipes down the reloaded cases with a clean dry cloth and a fine wax film remains behind to stave off carbon neck shoulder fouling . I've found it helps with extraction on Gas guns as well . NO it's not like oiling a round or having oil in a chamber ,which ISN'T good . I wear a Nitrile glove while handling cases and it aids in lubricating cases properly .
Shallow cardboard box or old cookie sheet ,line you cases one spray ,roll cases another spray and you're Good to go . ** February 2022 Marked 56 Years reloading for ME ,still got #8 fingers ,#2 opposing thumbs ,Both eyes and ears . Misfire's I can still count on one hand , accidents Zero and that's Not bad considering I reload for #18 Rifle & Pistol calibers ,not including 12 ,20 and 28 gauge shot gun .

FYI : I've stuck more than MY fair share of cases inside the Dies ,however I'm probably the only one who has specific coated Dies and has run them Dry ,in an attempt to perfect a nano coated Die ,so as to specifically resize Dry ,including case mouths . Which is becoming more of a reality as each day passes .

MY current record is #42 , 7.62x51mm Military once fired ,without lube . Not too bad .

FYI : Those of you who are stuck on Imperial sizing wax ,can save yourselves a bunch of money ,by simply purchasing pure Carnauba Wax or a blend of synthetic polymers . Aircraft Automobile Marine ; Just be sure it contains NO abrasives or silicone's . Look for PROTECTS and Not cleans or abrasives .

Yeah most of those threads are years old

But I guess everyone has their favorite. Some of the ones mentioned are hard to find these days.

I'm tempted to use Hobo Oil. Super low viscosity. Seems to wipe off easily. Just not sure if it would begin to 'clog' the die over time.
The only way you get a buildup up of sizing lube in a die is if you don't clean them once in a while. There's actually a guy on this website that thinks that tumbling to long removes zinc from the brass surface.

I use Hornady one shot case lube and Sharpshooter case lube comes in 2oz & 4oz jars. Great results with both.

I ordered some Sharp shoot r case lube to try. Ive read about it on their site but never tried it. I have some T-9 ill also try once I get back up and running. Everything boxed up in storage for our move. I tried Imperial several times and had issues every time with some cases chattering in the die. I tried more and less lube but no difference so I shelved it. I had good results with RCBS but my hands are getting old and had trouble wiping it off.. Been using Lee for years now with no issues at all and it wipes off easily with a terry cloth rag and its cheap as dirt and a tube lasts forever. Im on the same tube now for 2 years and counting. Ive never had an issue with rusting dies. Always let it dry before using. Will try the T-9 when I get going again

I recently started using PAM original cooking spray and a roll on lube pad. Use sparingly. Wipes off very easily. No problems so far, cost effective, and wife always keeps it in stock.

What are people's current favourites for full length sizing? I was using Imperial Bio but it now looks awful and I need some fresh stuff. I was thinking of just using Hobo Oil. Thoughts?
I did a search for case lube. There are about 70 original post and over 2000 replies. I am quilty sometimes.

My go to has been imperial for big cases and one shot for 223.
I recently tried som Hi-line precision wax and I think it’s possibly better than imperial.
