Boss Report -- Hanging Tough with One Less Component

I hope to have a continued speedy recovery. Maybe the Creator is sending you a message in a friendly way—take some time off to refocus. Regardless to what we do, our jobs generally outlive us.

Significant pain right side of abdomen. Managed to get about 4 hours of sleep last night. Not a minute of sleep previous evening in hospital. Doc says most pain should subside in a week. Hope so. Told to avoid lifting and bending. Not fun… but consequences of inflamed, damaged GB can be much worse. My Gallbladder was “really bad” acc. to surgeon with evidence of infection, so they put me on IV antibiotics.

Had mine pulled about 4 years back after abdominal pain sent me to the ER. Sent me there a couple of times over the years actually but it took them a while to find it. Finally they used ultrasound and spotted the problem. Arthroscopic surgery they said. Minimally invasive is what arthroscopic means to me. Had an F Class practice the middle of the week, a few days away. I said, let's do this and I can still make my practice. Well it seems it was infected so they had to give the antibiotics some time to work before they cut into me. The day before they decided it was time to go. Great I said, about time, I can still make the practice.

Well F^&k me if I didn't wake up as you describe. Multiple holes in my abdomen at vast distances apart with one of them being a surgical drain. WTF I say, thought this was minimally invasive arthroscopic surgery. Watched a video on the proceedure when I got home. Turns out that it's not that minimally invasive. 4 holes. One of them is used to fill your guts with air so they can see to work. Another is suction and the other two are for what looks like those tools they use on the slab at a Mongolian BBQ. Doc is essentially swimming around in your guts with a pair of boat oars and a knife.

Needless to say I did not make the practice. On the up side it only took about a week to return to some level of normalcy and that pain has never returned. Here is wishing you a speedy recovery.

Thanks for the update, prayers for a speedy recovery.

You’ll be back on your game soon. I had my GB out about 7 months ago. For a while I had to watch what I ate, but I’m pretty much back to normal on eating habits. Be careful with greasy foods and things like potato chips for a while. They run through your system pretty quick at first.

Hope Your recovery is progressing ,surgeries are NO FUN or Joke . I've had to date #18 and praying it's MY last . Tuesday tells the tale for Me .
