Bolt face ?

Need some expert advice.
Which is a more cost effective and feasable alternative for changing a custom action,Bat, Nesika, Lawton) from PPC to BR bolt face.

1. Purchase new bolt

2. Open bolt face

The last 3L BAT bolt body I purchased from BAT was over $400.00, and I know that opening the old bolt face to the new size wont even be close to that.
I also have a extra one coming for my 7500 Lawton, but don't remember the exact price, but it's lots more than opening one up.

Just wanting to go from ppc to .308 size bolt face. I have been offered a good deal on a custom action with a PPC boltface but not really interested in shooting any of the PPC cartridges. Not really interested in turning case heads down either. Just wondered if it was feasable to change boltface on one of them.

Opening the bolt face is a feasible option if ejection is not an issue. It should extract just fine.---Mike Ezell

I opened the BF on one of my Farley actions from PPC to BR and have had no problems with extraction or ejection with either case.
