Best Carbon Cleaner

Free All?

Where do you get this stuff? I must be doing the search wrong. I'm not finding a product that is labeled Free All.

Can someone give me a link?

I found a can at my local Auto Zone. You can check at most auto parts stores.

I am a new fan of Free All.
Sure glad that I found this page. Free All is the fasted carbon remover the I have ever used in my 25 plus years of shooting. Put some wet patches in my .223 Ruger today and let it soak about a hour then with a fairly new bronze brush and 15 strokes back and forth at least 95% of the carbon was gone. Just a little about 3 inches at the throat.

I guess I'm old school...the hunter bench crowd,high-power shooters all had their brew cleaner. But everyone was not using brushes..I've been starting with hopes no9 to wet bore, dry patch and rewet bore with sweets...dry patch...repeat till all blur or green gone...hoppes again, dry patch then a light oil that's non Teflon

I agree with the post that different powders different bore cleaners, gotta find the combo that works best for you. That said, bore tech eliminator and carbon cleaner will get most of the copper and carbon out, but when you get down to the HARD carbon, different animal. when the patches come out clean, and seeing with a bore scope that there is still black in the corners and what looks like heat cracking, and a little copper/black color will be mostly removed with thro clean. 20 to 30 strokes recharging after 10 with a iosso brush. then the last little bit in front of the chamber will be gone with iosso paste, short stroked with a tight patch 10 or 15 times. I have see what looked like the heat cracking disappear using this process, so I think what I was seeing was broken up hard carbon.
I have used JB and kroil after the patches come out clean and with a tight patch stroked 10 times or more, and it would come out clean, and no change in the bore scope. but put the iosso paste in there and it will turn black in just a couple strokes. Im not sure if its all carbon, or a little steel, but it will be mirror bright in there after using that paste. I dont use the thro clean and iosso paste every cleaning, about every 500 rounds.

I cleaned 2 rifles this weekend, I cant imagine ever not using CLR for carbon, hard carbon you need something to scrub it out

Iosso and most "metal polishes" will turn black even if you rub it on a clean spoon with your finger

for the hardest carbon IOSSO ,i dont go nuts with it mostly its only used in the first few Inches, Brech end . for the most part its Hoppies 9 . only use nylon brushes .
Sweets, if there is to much copper

I like trying different things out and every time a new carbon cleaner comes out, I tend to give it a try. I know I've tried probably 30 different carbon methods at least. Many have been mentioned in prior posts in this thread. At the end of the day, I know I can always go back to my old Shooters Choice or Butch's Bore Shine and once a patch is left to soak in the throat, I know my bronze brush will get most of it out. In severe cases - I attack with JB Bore paste with a patch wrapped around a nylon brush. Honestly - it seems the more a product is touted as a Carbon Remover, the more I have gotten my hopes up. Unfortunately, most don't work any better than any solvent at hand. I've never heard of that Napa product - now I've got to give that a go!

I`ve tried ALOT of concoctions in the last 50+yrs, but as of lately, i tried the Breakthrough "Carbon Pro". I threw out everything else immediately in the garbage after i saw how good it worked. Not only did this stuff clean out my built up carbon, it also cleaned out my gun cleaning cabinet.

I soak a cotton patch, let it sit in the chamber 5 minutes, twist a plastic bore brush into the chamber, no more carbon.

I bought BT-Carbon Pro at BassPro, but have since found it through HomeDepot a little cheaper. I can order it on their website, then go to town and pick it up when it comes in. For me, its easier to drive to my local HomeDepot 10 minutes from my house rather than drive 2hrs (to an from) to basspro.

That’s odd that Home Depot sells this.

I bought some of this to test but it sat too long in one place and wife chucked it. How does it compare to bore tech? I have a small bottle on the way to try
