I’ve enjoyed this thread a lot. These days mainly short range bench rest and long range steel for me, usually some Berger Hybrid (105, 130, 140, 184, or 190) or Sierra MK (110, 142). These have been my favorite mass produced bullets. The best single bullet was a 130+ grain hollow point into the boiler room from my 4” S&W 686-2 357 magnum at about 10 ft. The only deer I’ve killed that went down with all four feet in the air.

The one that hits the mark. I'd have to say Nosler Partition. I've never had one let me down on an elk hunt.

I'm a fan of lots though, depends on the caliber and use.

Oh and I will add, best bullet for me, Hornady 75 AMax. That bullet flew good all the way to 900 yards, but just didn’t have enough for the last 100 yards. The other was the 22lr 40 gr bullet.

I will jump in here.I have been pretty sucessful over the years with SMKs. First sort with Bob Greens tool into 3 lots. Than sort those lots base to ogive usually into 3 lots. Then measure loaded rounds base to live. Usually end up 48, 49, or 50 out of each box of 50 plus or minus .0005. I do not sort by weight normally.

for less work option, would sorting by weight get close to what you are doing with different measurements?

I guess a factory Sako old style 6ppc round. 70 grain bullet, probably made by Norma or Lapua? Hornady 139 gr SST, Hornady Vmax, 224, 50 gr. corrected

I discarded weighing as not worth the effort . That being said, if going to a shoot I would really like to win I will weigh those bullets. I did it for one shoot last year just to eliminate an outlier.
