Bench top sealer

[TAJ45]

For my portable, kinda, shooting bench. I have two layers of exterior 23/32 plywood, glued and screwed awaiting lagging the leg brackets. I definitely want to fill the lam voids on the edges and coat, seal or ?? it for outdoor set up and leave.
What suggestions have ye?

Tom, through bolt it, don't use lag screws, they
will loosen and you will get movement. LDS

I have a sheet of galvanized steel bent to cover the edges and used construction adhesive to attach it

Sikkens is good stuff. You'll have to do it yearly. A metal cover will get hot in the sun. The "truck bed paint" is the best at lasting thru the elements, tho. I went thru this when I refitted my boat deck. I didn't want black, so I researched and found a product called Duroback or Durobac. It's made for boat decks on commercial vessels and comes in lots of different colors. I bought the Beige and did my boat. 15 years later, the edges are just starting to peel. I highly recommend it! I think it comes with or without the "chunks" that help boots grip the deck.

Polyester resin will seal the wood and require little to no maintenance. To reap the full benefit of the resin you will need to completely seal the wood with two coats (top, bottom and all sides). It will keep all moisture out of the wood and add strength as well.
Epoxy would be my second choice due to its high cost.

Polyester resin is not a glue and will delam likity split. Epoxy on the other hand could work, especially if you use fiberglass to reinforce it. You can reinforce Poly Resin with glass but still have the delam issue.
