My brand and source material must be different.
Yea, a lot of cars are in the 70 ft./lb range. Toyotas come to mind.

Probably even higher than that. Light duty Ram truck wheel lugnuts use 130ft-lb (176Nm). I know because I just left the plant 30 minutes ago and I had to check the torque for lugs for a rework procedure. You should, 95-115 depending on brand (car or truck).
Yep that horse has been beat to death, time start on lug nutsSo much for discussing BARREL torque I guess!
But I did learn how to torque the lug nuts on my Land Cruiser on a shooting website.
Dave.
I'm old and it has been a LONG time since I was in the shop, I know some of the newer stuff has increased the amount of torque required to hold the wheels on!Probably even higher than that. They started using aluminum wheels since that chart was outFor all of the stuff nearing 150 like many domestic trucks, there's a bunch way under 100.

Im just saying wheels and tires have changed alot since that chart came out. My wifes new telluride has 20” wheels and takes 110lbft of torque. The mechanics use torque sticks. Heres a chart for a typical ram these daysNo, that’s not accurate. Aluminum alloys have been around and popular for much longer.
Roadside service is what they count on. My owners manual shows you how to stand on the lug wrench to break them looseWhen are they going to include a wrench capable of loosening them? Not much worse than having a flat and the wrench doesn't work. BTDT
Ya gotta anneal first.will the right Torque on lug nuts help keep the wheel in the x ring
Youll make it to the range to practice is the main thingIf I tightening the lug nuts on my pickup tighter, will it make my riffle shoot better?
Let's not go down the torque stick rabbit hole.Im just saying wheels and tires have changed alot since that chart came out. My wifes new telluride has 20” wheels and takes 110lbft of torque. The mechanics use torque sticks. Heres a chart for a typical ram these days
