Changing the Barrel on a RPR Gen II

I have seen where someone was changing the Barrel on a Ruger Precision Rifle and wanted to know the factory barrel nut torque. The barrel was so tight on my RPR 6.5 creedmoor that I wanted to send it to Ruger to have them remove the barrel. They would not. They explained that they could not ship the rifle in pieces and the barrel had to be torqued to factory specifications. Per Ruger, the factory torque is 150 ft-lbs. If you are lucky enought to remove the factory barrel, I suggest you torque the new barrel between 25 and 35 ft-lbs.

If it’s that bad I would be inclined to cut the original nut off and just get a new one.
