Barrel life 800-1100 rounds!

I'm a left side of the page guy so I could shoot the same ammo in bolt or gas guns. (Very?) mild in one and moderate at most in the other. Not that I have guns for that, but maybe some day. My biggest dilemma now days is wishing I had a .17 HMR upper I could interchange with my Tippmann lower.

But I find this barrel life thing and all this discussion fascinating stuff. And I've learned a good bit from all this, not being involved in this area of the sport previously.

I really like the 224 Valkyrie, but it’s another in a long line of examples of cases that have been basically bungled by their creator. Just reinforces what a good job Hornady does at promoting and supporting their offerings.

Once I have to worry about cost it’s really not a sport for me. In other words don’t shoot at all. Then barrel life will surpass your life. Not much enjoyment in that.

Ran it at least 20 years….Rough estimate of rounds out was 12K

You will have to show me where, as I looked backed and can't find me referring to WE, in the general sense.

Yes, I did refer to us, in direct reference to those of Us that do not own a gas gun that would have to worry about mixing up loads. Quite a difference in context.

It’s easy to see why a 30BR is so easy on barrels.

As for the ARC case, put it in a well assembled Benchrest Rifle throated to shoot 65/68 grn (6 mm) bullets and it would probably perform quite similar to a 6PPC. Maybe a tad over bore, but with the right powder?
