Assault Weapon Ban?

Some semi-auto guns.
Not all, only with evil features.
Part of bill ruger's bootlicking legacy is the mini-14 never gets banned.
Only semi-autos, no manual actions bammed regardless of features.
No rimfires banned.

Apparently not. We sat by with idle hands as our city's burned to the ground during the "peaceful" riots of BLM and now there are nine states with semi auto banning laws. At what point does someone need to step up and who will that person be?

Ain't gonna happen. Most type tough but when it comes to reality they speed by the grisly car wreck by justifying that someone better qualified will stop to render aid. Very few are willing to risk losing their comfortable life and family sanctity by going rogue to physically fight for a principle.

Court filings should be appearing next week over the Ill law..over 60 % of county Sherifs have, in writing, stated they Will Not enforce the new gun ban. 2nd AMENDMENT VIOLATION

Same in rural Oregon like where I live ( we dont have bans yet) but the problem is we have as many state troopers in my town of 7000 as we have sheriffs. Those well paid troopers are on the Governor's payroll.

Seriously, It's going to take more then just one or two individuals to do anything about any of this.

The only thing that would happen to one or two, would be they would make an extreme public example out of them to scare off all the others.

No, it'll take a coordinated effort by several thousand to even millions to accomplish anything. Organization and communications are the key hindrances.

I had an all stainless Mini-14 plastic stock 'ranch rifle' when I lived overseas in a country where military rifles were banned. The penalty to get caught with any AR variant was a mandatory year minimum in prison and no bail. Made ya think twice!
I always like to stay ahead of the herd and am thinking about one again as it seems to be immune, as mentioned above somewhere, to being on the ban lists for now.
If you have to bury your poly80 AR then that isnt going to make it very handy!

Even at twenty million, that’s less than seven percent of the population. Then figure one guy owns 3 or 4, that takes it down below 6% of the population.
We’re outnumbered.
Only ~6% of the population of the original 13 colonies participated in the Revolutionary War. And they took down the best military in the world at the time (abet, if the English weren't concerned about the French and Spanish, it may have put more resources into it, but that is another topic altogether).

400+ million guns in the US. Most of us own something that is on some of these lists. Hell, my dad's Browning BAR qualifies under some of these definitions. This isn't just about AR pattern firearms.

Indeed!

We out number them. BIG TIME.

We out gun them.

We have the vast majority of former military many that were special forces. The very elite of the fighting military is with us.

YET, we are afraid of them?!?!?!?!?

In what world does this make sense?

OUR PROBLEM IS ORGANIZATION.

The NRA, SAF, GOA, NAGR and all the rest are busy making money off of us.....why would they want to screw that up with a war?

Gentlemen, we are on our own.

AND if things don't change relatively soon, WE will be disarmed. Slowly but surely, they ARE nibbling away at our ability to own firearms. State by state, city by city........until that "frog" is boiled and ready to eat. The Constitution be damned. They're doing it anyway.

^^^^^ So very true! Every state that is already on the list had a group of people just as we are that said well it won't happen here and it's okay as long as it's not in my state... Until it is and it did. This will not be ended by voting. Not since they started using wi-fi capable voting machines. We've already lost the battle. Now we need to open our eyes and see the bigger picture in this war.

We better hurry up because I'm gettin too old to do much.
Might could run a loading press.

You guys worry too much!!
Well ............... they've gotten away with it here in NY. We've had an "assault weapons" ban for quite some time. Naturally, several manufacturers try to make firearms that work around all the evil features, but the rifles are complete abortions.

We have a grandfather clause here like Illinois. Any AW that you owned when the law went into effect had to be registered with the NYS Police. It cannot be transferred to anyone within the state and you cannot buy any additional AWs.
Connecticut is even worse. AND, you have to have a permit to buy ammunition.

The Illinois gov. just signed an assault ban. Goes into affect immediately.
He's giving the honest citizens till Jan. 2024 to "register" them with the state.
Not going to get too concerned yet, their will be plenty of petitions filed against it.
There will be maybe a dozen registrations. Then the Governor will extend the "grace period", and then extend it again... "Come on, guys, please register your guns. Please?" Down State folks ain't gonna comply. It just ain't gonna happen.

The USSC will strike it down, strike all of them down, within a year.

I live in Montana. It ain't gonna happen here either. Even the most left loony DemonRats occupying down town Missoula know better.

The suppressor case from Texas should get at least suppressors removed from the NFA, if not bring the whole NFA down. The NFA is a house of cards anyway.
