Parent`s aren`t parent`s anymore, and have NOT been, in a very long time. Giving your child a cell phone, then ignoring them, is NOT parenting.

Parachute parenting seems to be the biggest problem. Parents only drop in AFTER their child is a problem.

Why don’t they go after violent video games.
It appears to me that when they started making this stuff these shooting started to escalate. To me these things gratify violence and some people aren’t wired correctly up stairs and imitate it But they’ll not do anything about it because there’s too much money in it and the politicians don’t want to slap the hand that feeds them.

It has nothing to do with video games or anything else that is causing what they consider is the problem, guns. Everything that is causing the problem video games, no education, inner City homeless drugs prostitution, letting criminals back out on the street all of this combined plus much more adds fuel to their idea of the "problem" which is guns. The real issue is control, you cannot control a population that still has firearms ask any third world country. Ask anybody that's lived in communism. Ask anybody that lived during world war II with Hitler. If you think it's bad here now wait till they take our guns away and see how fucking bad it's going to get. If you think that government overreaches bad now just wait until they control everything. Just imagine you go into the grocery store to buy your family groceries and all of a sudden your food card don't work, "sir it says here that you spoke out against the government at a rally and your food card's on hold"! If you think this won't happen you better sit down with that computer that you're allowed to have now and do some more research on Hitler, Stalin, China any third world country in existence in the history of it.
The government don't give a rat's ass about what's causing all the shootings they just want the guns because they can't control us as long as we have them.

Might not have anything to do with video games. Look at the other factors that also took pace around that same time. Lets consider the lack of parenting. The lack of teaching responsibility. And the lack of any moral direction in life. We might find the answers there as opposed to blaming a game.

They're trying to fix a change in culture with more restrictive laws. As an outsider I see changes in demographics, rise in drug use, over prescribed pharmaceuticals, lack of personal responsibility, shame and guilt, lack of trust in authority, a lack of authority and, I'm sure, plenty of other changes in the last 50 years. The responsible gun owners haven't changed, it's the irresponsible attitudes of the few that have changed.

It may be seen as a quick fix but speaking from experience object to any changes in the law. It will only lead to more and more restrictions as each new broom tries show they are tougher than the last. There needs to be a big push for people to start taking responsibility for themselves and their own actions. Leave the law abiding alone and hold the guilty to account.

The left have tried this before, in this end of civilisation. It doesn't really fly with the public as the "evidence" is usually a load of statistics lists or graphs, and the eyes glaze over real fast. Naturally, one can counter the argument by calling the stats into disrepute, as they won't separate deaths during criminal activity or drug dealings/users. They cannot know whether the firearm used was legal or not.

One can argue that, if it is a public health issue, that it is only an issue in black communities... and watch the academics run for the hills.

Might be time to vote for a businessman and not for a politician. The businessman will appoint by ability, the politician by DEI.
