US Surgeon General Declares Health Emergency: It's The Guns!

Is that the same as mandatory? “Generally considered “. That’s some leeway.
I’m talking about the title itself.
I couldn’t care less about this guy himself.
Well assuming chatgpt got the minimum job requirements right and they haven't changed since 11/2023 (most current data chatgpt 40 has), then yes that would be mandatory. If it's an executive appointment not 100% sure but I think congress also has to confirm the position. I didn't ask this, I didn't even look to see if it's an appointment.

It's basically a gov job just like anything else, so it has minimum requirements to be considered for the job. I suspected having an M.D. being one of those, some of the others were not surprising. It's almost certain the job requirements are posted on some gov web site and kept up to date as I believe that's a requirement under the law. Meaning you certainly could look up the current requirements.

I'm pretty sure as gov positions go, elected officials are the only ones that don't actually need to have any qualifications for the position they are running for, they simply need to dupe enough people into voting them into office.

I believe I also saw something this week about how pharma is trying to get them to label obesity as a brain disease. If they do this, it'll be open season for pharma on about 75 percent of the US population.
