Ar 15 drop in triggers

I also have the CMC and recommend it For the price range you stated. You can catch it on sale at Palmetto State sometimes for $99.

It's not a drop in, but I really like the Rock River National Match 2 stage trigger. No idea what they cost these days, but before covid you could get them for around $100 and there used to be plenty of videos out there showing how to install them (pretty easy). They generally have a 4.5-5 lb 2nd stage with around a 3 lb first stage which makes it feel like you're running a 1.5 lb trigger. They are safe and they have a very clean break. I've always been partial to a 2 stage trigger, especially for a target or hunting rifle where I want my shots to be accurate. IMHO, you have to spend quite a bit of $$ to get better performance than the RR.

IMHO, Mil spec triggers are kind of all over the place in regards to quality. The cheap mil spec triggers that come in most parts kits absolutely suck. Switching to a better trigger will make a substantial improvement in your group size, especially if you struggle with accuracy anyway. Now, if you're Erik Cortina and you're swapping out the crappy standard mil spec trigger in a PSA lower, its not gong to make as big of a difference even if you're upgrading to an adjustable Geissele Hi-Speed NM 2 stage trigger, but it will still help.

....

And lastly my personal favorite, the Larue MBT. I dont think youll find a better $115 trigger than the Larue. They used to be $89. At that price there was nothing better.

I'm a big fan of the MBT 2S as well. It isn't the best AR trigger for pure target disciplines but is an awesome all-around defense, hunting, steel plinking trigger for the price.

On sale for $99 right now

My 2 trigger tech drop in are as good as timney on my bolt gun.

I got one on a really good sale and another used but never opened. For me the diamond and the special are just as good, because I would never set an AR trigger that low.

I tried the CMC first. I got a lemon and they refunded my money, but also offered a replacement.

I agree with this. The $99 deal comes up frequently on PSA. I run these in all my ARs. I would go for the 2-2.5lb version over the 1.5lb. Single stage AR triggers that go that light can act weird.

Trigger Tech is my preference. The Diamond is the best, but it may be more expensive than you'd want.
I'll recommend the TriggerTechs, too. No need to go with the Diamond for a hunting gun, but that IS a phenomenal upgrade from your typical mil-spec AR trigger. All of the TriggerTechs break very crisply and they're very reliable. I have one of their prototype triggers on an AR - it's been there since 2015 without any problems whatsoever over thousands of rounds. Very good build quality.

Huge fan of TriggerTech's triggers. In my kids guns, they all have a LaRue or similar 2 Stage Trigger, but they all love to shoot the ARs that I have with the TT installed.

TriggerTech has "duty" branded drop in triggers now for less than $200 for AR15 and AR10s, and they offer the same technology as their premium line of triggers, but at a more affordable price point. There is some differences that most users will not see the difference in, but overall, their company model and products are phenomenal. My wife's AR has a Timney 4 pound trigger in it, and honestly, thinking of swapping it out. She'd probably kill me, but she'd never feel the difference LOL.

We've used Velocity, CMC, Rise, Elfmann in the past for drop-ins, and we keep going back to the TriggerTech.

I dont think there is a better all around trigger for the price. If there is Im unaware of it. I prefer a 2 stage trigger for most ar15 rifles. I sold my elftmann drop ins and outfitted all my ar15s with a larue except for one that actually has an older Colt National Match single stage with JP 3.0lb springs.

I have put Rise Armament triggers in my ARs and love them. Very easy to install, nice 3lb pull weight and under $100. Dvor.com will sometimes have the optics planet branded ones for around $75 bucks.

CNC, 3lbs flat trigger is my go to. Cheapest I've seen is $119.00.
Ran 2 Rise Armaments (you can get on sale just at $100.00) they work for a cheap trigger. Has a bit more float in the trigger than CNC but if she's never had an aftermarket trigger she'll never know the difference. Anything to beat MIL Spec will be appreciated.

Larue MB2S I believe it’s called feels similar to a Geissele SSA-E but the Larue costs only around $100. It is the best 2 stage AR trigger that can be purchased in that price range. I have no preference between the expensive Geisselle or the Larue so I always go with the Larue. Not many good deals in the shooting sports but this is one of them.
