Ar 15 drop in triggers

I’m leaving to upgrade the trigger on an ar my daughter uses for deer hunting. Its on a sporter/ mid weight rifle that will be used mostly at 100 yards or so, so not looking for a super light target rifle trigger, just something more crisp than the milspec trigger that is on it now. Looks like the drop in triggers start at under $100 on sale at midway. Are these a noticeable upgrade over milspec? Does anyone have a suggestion?

Buy and drop in the “Diamond “
Save the mil-spec if you ever move that rifle down the road
Swap it out
Problem solved

"Mil-Spec" triggers can vary a lot between manufacturers, what is the current trigger pull weight?
If the current trigger is in the 6-8lb range, any of the "drop ins" in the 3-4lb range will feel like a huge improvement. Warning: Once you go with a Trigger Tech Diamond or American Trigger Corporation - AR Gold Trigger, you'll want one for all of your AR platform firearms!

Timney makes a good drop in AR trigger but they're almost as much as the others mentioned. One that's overlooked is the Palmetto State Armory drop in trigger, I've used several on customer guns and they've been great. You can usually catch them on sale for around 100 bucks.

Brownells sells a spring kit for AR triggers for about $10 bucks. made a big difference in my stock trigger. That was 3 years ago and I’ve never had a problem with it.

thats OK, I only have two lowers. I have one for her to shoot, and one for me. I don’t see me buying another lower, probably just more uppers

The spring kits from Brownell's or JP will work good and be the least expensive. Palmetto Arms has a very nice trigger, and when you can catch them on sale. I bought a couple for $79 on sale.

John800 if you have to have a "drop in" style then disregard my following suggestions. It sounds like you would like a cleaned up milspec trigger with a touch lighter pull with no gritty feeling and less creep etc. My first and cheapest suggestion would be the ALG QMS. And if a lighter pull is desired I would look at JP 4.5lb springs for a hunting rig.

A considerable step up from that would be a Schmid 2 stage.

And lastly my personal favorite, the Larue MBT. I dont think youll find a better $115 trigger than the Larue. They used to be $89. At that price there was nothing better.

Livefire has good suggestions that I’ve shot add Geissele 2 stage and be done.
Personally I have not been impressed with triggertech, as my nephew says really lol.

DVOR.com routinely runs them on sale from $85-90, this is sub platform of optics planet, that deals only In upgrade gun parts. I have bought 7 of them for myself and friends in #3.5 and they all feel closet to #2.5, due to the angle of the grip on a AR. Most of them are single stage, break really crisp, best money I ever spent on a AR. One piece drop in.

I have a velocity in a cheeper ar i have. It was one of the better priced drop ins and i think it was a major upgrade from mill spec. My other ones had triggers worked over by the builders and feel just about as good as the drop in.

2nd vote for the Larue. It is a 4.5# with a distinct 2nd stage that breaks at about 2#. My go to for a target trigger.

if you go with a drop in , you will have to purchase
other pens ant-walk . I use a 3 lb. Velocity have used it for 4 yrs now
real nice no creep / breaks like glass , other triggers i use is CMC
drop in as well, 2.5 lbs. 3 of those and one 3.5 all flat triggers
they are all good to go .
