Anyone reloading 10mm

Looking for tricks of the trade & any tips. Long time rifle & rimed handgun cartridge reloader. 1st time reloading autos, and I'm going hot 10mm, like new Starline brass, AA #9 and MBW 200 WFN-GC.

I have been playing with a g20 for a bit changing stuff on it trying to figure out brass life and ways to improve on brass prep. And what all is really needed to make it all work with hot loads for reliability and longevity. Anyways i have been running 200 grain hornady xtp, starline brass, aa9 powder , winchester primers. Current load is running 1200fps range. Very accurate will be testing Montana hardcast 200 gr bullets next hopefully they will hit the same velocity with accuraccy and reiability. Target shot at 15 yards standing no bags or support used.Screenshot_20250116_205632_Gallery.jpgScreenshot_20250116_210058_ShotView.jpg

If you're loading hot and want to reload look up the Glock smile. Glock chamber/ loading ramp is large to handle any crappy ammo you buy so the case base is unsupported in that area and stretches a lot with hot loads. Not a problem unless you want to reload those cases. One solution is an aftermarket barrel with a tighter chamber/ramp.

I'll be trying both 2400 and Unique with 180 grain bullets. Unique is a bit on the dirty side but used for nearly everything. 2400 is a mag powder and should work well for hotter loads.

I have loaded the 10mm for years and tested many bullets and powders.
I suggest you don't focus on "hot" loads but stay as little below max. You will find a little slower velocity kills just as well with no difference. Use 200 gr cast bullets. Practice with medium to low power loads and mix in a few of heavy cast loads to sight in and get the feel of things. Keep the range short and take well placed shots and you will like the cartridge.
Good hunting.

While I have been loading the 10mm for quite a few years now, I don't have much to offer, as we don't shoot the 10mm that much.

The last load I used was this one:

I had to use small pistol primers, but did use Federal primers and brass.
I have only seen large primers in 10 mm brass, unless maybe Federal 10 mm no lead ammo has small primers.

Noticed quite a few of you are using similar loads to me, have you guys upgraded your recoil springs to a higher weight over the factory one?

I went with a 20 lb, to tighten up my ES.

Probably good advice.
