Anyone else get irritated with Federals Primer packaging?

I reckon that I have had an Angel on my shoulder because I have been dumping all kinds of primers in the old an new RCBS and Lee tools.

Sometimes the primer gets cocked and a jam occurs....use your imatination. Sometimes I just about flattened the primers as they were trying to seat side ways.

I always wear safety glasses. I reckon a bullet proof vest and an old Army Steel Pot is in order also.

I would advise against priming your cases while drinking Shlitz Malt Liquor.

I wouldn't recommend doing ANYTHING whle drinking Schlitz except maybe pouring it down the drain! :o

That is worse than Genny cream ale!

I generally se CCI or Tula primers, but not too long ago I ran out while loading 357 so I found a brick of Federal SPP and proceeded to prime w/ Lee prime. What a PITA. I had to be very careful to check the position of each primer otherwise one in 4 would seat sideways or inverted. I think the radius of the cup allowed them to tip when entering the punch chamber. Some could jiggle into place, but most had to be shaken out and reloaded. These primers probably date back tolate 80s.
As far as firing unsupported cases most just pop and fizlzle. Most powders cant get enough pressure to raelly burn effectively. The primers on the other hand behave as they want to. Long ago and far away while a teanager, a friend and I were messing about. the original game plan escapes my memory, but the gist is a primer ignited in a small fire and i started my surgical career early on. I had to dig the primer out of my buddy's chest, afetr the primer went thru his flannel shirt pocket and imbedded under the skin. The shreds of flannel made the job easy,n he did squirm alot though. Needed to get the primer out so we didnt have to explain anything. From experience w, pellet guns Id guess about 4-600FPS. A dropped baggie setting off a potential lethal projectile???? Seems unlikely, unless black powder was the propellant.
