Fantastic, see you in a few weeks. Try to get here early, that sounds like a very long drive and you'll probably want some rest before the shooting starts! Do you know Jim Murphy? He's from Kentucky.

I haven't had the pleasure to meet Jim Murphy.

I'll be there in plenty of time! I plan on taking the beginner class crash course.

Are you shooting F-Open or F-TR this year?

Well, there's four of us. Devon & I will be TR, Christine & Adrian will be Open. we like to cover all the bases.:)

I was told this weekend, there are already well over 300 entries, so looks like it will be a full match!

Bart,,,,were you dumping powder with a Culver/Harrels powder measure when shooting target 72 and 73,,,,and were they shot with a rail gun,,,,keep up the good work and never stop shooting,,,Roger

Roger,

The groups that I posted were 3 shot groups at a 100 yards. They were shot with a bag gun while throwing powder.

As a side note I've started looking at my RCBS Chargemaster as just a good powder thrower after checking it against a decent scale.

There are two 1,000 yard club matches the weekend prior (6 & 7 Feb). Great warm up if you can make it.
Scott,

I'd love to but as it is I'm looking at being gone two weeks. Folks are wanting bullets so it's hard to be gone that long.

I'm also looking at maybe spending most of October out there for the NBRSA Short range nationals and then the 600 yard Nats in Phoenix.

Hi Bart,,,,thank YOU for the info,,,most of the posters on here dont shoot "B"enchrest and have no idea about your years of experience or skills as a shooter and most doubt the credence of "tune" and using a powder measure,,,and think that there is a spotter (little round orange disc placed in your last bullet hole-to be viewed thru your rifle scope) used in long range benchrest on the record target,,,none the less keep making those terrific 100gr+ 6mm bullets ,,,they are among the best ever,,,,I visited Fred Huntington's underground tunnel in 74' and have dreamed of having one ever since, hahahaha,,,he had his targets on a roll feeder and numbered them like you do yours ,,,it shure makes testing of various bullets, powder charges, seating depth etc quick and EZ...I hope 2016 is the best year ever for us all....Roger

We have two shooters that come up to Rayners here in Ohio from Harlan Co down in KY each month to shoot the monthly matches on the 4th weekend of each month so Rayners isn't that far away. Been averaging well over 125 shooters each month and expect to have over 150 at the matches each month this summer.

Shoot from 235 yards to 1000 yards and would enjoy seeing some of the shooters that visit this site joining us. Not benchrest, you shoot either shoot prone or off wooden benches at various size steel plates at various distances facing different directions. Would like to see and learn from those that have learned to tune for various conditions and see how that would apply to the terrain and conditions at our matches.

If the local shooters see how well that works and how well those bullets work I'm sure you'd be swamped with orders from our area. There are some pretty darn small targets way out there, how's .4 moa at a thousand sound for challenging? Finding a way to minimize first round misses by having tuned loads would definitely be an advantage and seeing it done would be pretty convincing and would change the way everyone up here approaches it.

Look forward to seeing some of you at Rayners this summer, maybe plan a stop by on your way to Kelblys.

......,and think that there is a spotter used in long range benchrest on the record target,,,......Roger

Roger -
That would be a NO.... no spotters or spectators allowed on the firing line during the record string.
Spotters are allowed during Sight-In, but have to leave the line before the commence of the record strings.

D,
I think he was reffering to spotting disks, which we don't have on the RECORD target either.
