I ordered one on Saturday, and it arrived on Thursday (almost Amazon fast!). Decided to try it out on some 223 brass for my PRS trainer. I started with 150 once fired Hornady cases. Experimented with least consequential brass, in case I totally flubbed something up. Used something I can replace (have a lot of). I quick set it up on my welding table (I was playing with fire). Spoiler alert....the cases are still hot when they drop into the tray.
I got my propane torch I use to light my smoker. Nozzle was 5/8", not 1/2" like the torch holder. No problem, I've got another one, an auto igniter. It's too big too. I must be the only person on the planet with propane nozzles bigger than 1/2".
Made a new nozzle clamp (holder), no big deal.
I set everything up and realized my propane tank is 3/4 empty. I didn't want to run out half way thru so I turned the flame down and moved it closer. Bad idea, don't do that. The cases will spend too much time absorbing too much heat. Plus the max time is 10 seconds.
What I did was, crank up the flame and move back and it spends less time in the flame and only the neck and shoulder are annealed.
I'll shoot them next week if the temp stays <110 and it doesn't rain
It works a charm. I would recommend ordering the extra nozzle holder to have two torches and get the riser. Save on shipping. The thing is real well made; heavy duty. JMHO
