Action choice for hunting rig

I get a kick out of hearing guys say that they hunt in extreme conditions, and then say that it was 0°F or something.
My son and I were just hunting late season elk in -35°C(-31°F). Failure to fire from the cold is starting to be a real possibility at those temps.
Not knocking all these recently introduced custom actions that are being mentioned, but they are mostly designed for the target range first and foremost.
Just get a good Mauser.
Little curious why they won’t make a good hunting action. I spent a significant amount of field use with my actions in temps and conditions varying from +30c or greater to -30c and lower. From matches, range session and hunting. I’ve never had one of my custom actions fail minus my vudoo 22 with eley ammo at a match that was -30c but that was also the ammo in those cold temps. I would trust any of my centerfire custom actions in cold weather

Can you explain why these actions are meant for the range and not for hunting? What qualities make them not suitable for a hunting rig?

Seems like a bold statement to make. Kelbly has been around for quite awhile along with many others.
I am not implying that all these new designs won't work, or that they are bad in some way. They are really amazing modern marvels of machining. I really admire them.
I am only saying that, for the most part, the are built with minimal clearances, and things like enclosed triggers, or extractors the size of a fingernail clipping.
The original Mauser designs were built for trench warfare. Things like 11mm of striker fall, a simple open trigger, looser clearances, an extractor the size of a crowbar, and even mud gutters on the bolt face of some early ones. As a for instance, if I have trouble with a Mauser extractor, I can have a new one on the bolt in about 10 seconds.
Obviously no one here has gotten debris in the barrel counterbore? A 5 thou clearance sounds great, until some little wee thing jams it up.
I know that rifles should be kept clean, dry, all those things, but that's not the question here. The question is, "What action will be most reliable in adverse conditions?".

Tons of good “hunting” actions being made today on top of the old reliables. Just don’t try to use left port single shot bench guns to hunt! That quick follow up shot is near impossible! My go to hunting guns are old Mausers, new Tikkas and lever guns.

I do love me some tikkas
