7 FCP, a cartridge developed specifically for the F Class Scene...

The 7FCP did great for me yesterday. I chambered a 8.5” Blake barrel Thursday, did break in and some light load development on it Saturday. I took it to a 1K club match Sunday with 64 rounds on it and won F Open. Still needs some tuning but it definitely has potential!

Got 40 rounds thru the bbl. 2724 avg MV with an SD of 3.1, shooting 54.4 Gr N555 under 190 Berger Hybrid. Brass appears to have FF good. Going to strip the bolt and see how it feels.
Only shot at 500 yds today as my local range is only 20 minutes away. Once I have 200 pieces FF by the weekend will drive an hour away and play at a 1000.
Shot off the bench today, mirage was terrible on ground.. Wind was 8-12 at 8…

All the top shot marker targets are the 7FCP.
Bottom shot marker is the 284 win with a new 32” finish Bartlein 5R 8.5 T that now has these 13 rounds down the bbl,IMG_0720.png

Nice shootin.....feels good dont it.
Nothing like shooting your first few rounds down a new barrel and stepping back, realizing
your load developments done...Its a sweet feelin that i always enjoy seeing.
( Well almost done...its still needs polish and buff ) lol

Long ways from being ready for Colorado, will get it tweaked with formed cases and tuned in. Im wanting to push the 190’s at high 28’s to low 29’s.

The 284 win is chambered identical to the bbl I pulled, freebore and head space. The first 13 rounds down the bbl with a proven load hammered as seen on shot marker.. that is so close to being polished. The 7FCP will be there by the end of the weekend.

The most gratifying part for me is doing all my own bbl work. That’s rewarding..

I run 190's at 2900 area so you can get there no problem.
Thanks, I saw that in earlier post you made Bryan. I’ve got in series of 5 loaded w/ 190’s in formed cases at 56.8 - 57.0 - 57.2 - 57.4 - 57.6 - 57.8 - 58.0 and 58.2 @ .010 off. Plan on running those in the morning and getting 50 or so more cases FF…

And you didn't have to keep your own score this time to win, lol!

If I had the budget for that much powder I'd really consider it. Looks to be doing everything right for long range.

Settled on 57.5 gr N555 Avg MV 2884 with SD at 4.3 w/ Berger 190’s. The wind was steady from my 9 today. Don’t read anything in the horizontal wasn’t holding for it. I’m 100% sure this wasn’t anything but wind, hardly no vertical. Will shoot it again to confirm.
1st Shotmarker is the 57.5 gr and rest are just FF…IMG_0740.pngIMG_0730.pngIMG_0729.pngIMG_0731.png

Yup...no load dev needed...I love how well it shoots.
Mine is the standard version just necked up but shoots real well too.
Your gonna do well in any comp Sir.

Excellent accuracy and velocity with 190's. Faster than most shooters with Shehanes shoot 180's.

Everything just works from fire forming forward. Didn’t think I would like the sizing die that is machined for setting neck tension. Buts it’s working great. Setting here loading 200 rds and pressure during seating is very consistent.
Main thing is take your time turning necks, don’t rush here make sure of your process and make it matter. It pays off on neck tension and accuracy.

All my brass shot exceptionally well and formed great w/ 54.4 gr 555. The formed cases with 57.5 gr 555 and 190’s seated .012” off touch hammered at 2,884 MV..

Do I like my setup? Yes sir…

Bryan did an awesome job here developing this and supporting it as well.
Anyone on the fence don’t second guess it’s accuracy and quality components to make it happen.

I’m just getting into F-class I’ve been shooting PRS and NRL22 for the last 9 years so obviously I jumped in with both feet. I just got a BAT action and McMillan stock then got the 7 FCP bundle yesterday just waiting on my barrel then off to my gunsmith. Thanks to Bryan and the crew for putting together a great package.

Those are some amazing groups! Have you tested the 190gr Berger at 1000 yards?

Colorado was a great time. I had shot 200 FF rounds and 35 formed rounds of semi tuning thru my FCP prior to heading to Colorado.
Did a quick tuner test after arriving in Colorado at 200 yds. Took a while to get it back in tune, big difference in DA and temp here.
The FCP did its part, I didn’t.. shot clean 1st match w/ 11x and ended the day with a 577-17.
Weather and wind didn’t play well…
Going to spend a lot of time tuning when we get back home and get it ready for Louisiana State next month.

I just chambered a Blake Barrel (32” 8.5tw) in a No turn 7FCP. I used once fired brass. 2 shots at 100 to sight in and the rest at 1000. I used 555, federal primers and 180 hybrids jumping .003. I tested a few sighters at 57.8(2927 AVG, 6.45 SD, 18.8 ES), 15 rds at 57.6(2914 AVG, 5.37 SD, 18.8 ES) and 15 at 58.2(2950 AVG, 8.56 SD, 14 ES). The temps were 75°, high humidity and no perceivable wind from 1000. Low SD did not coincide with results on target.

This round sounds interesting. I have a few questions.

Has anyone done any pressure testing on this?

What is your overall cartridge length?

Does this have a standard throat, if not what does it have?

Thanks,
Forrest
