6xc load data

Hey guys, just wanted to make a thread about my recent 6xc venture. I have a tactical switch barrel 700 with a proof research barrel in 6xc that I've been trying to get a good load for. Finally, I have found one that is amazing for my uses and needs. I have some Peterson srp 6mm creedmoor brass that I reformed and i am leaving the neck long since it works in this chamber. Great brass! Peterson srp brass, 112gr barnes match burner, 39gr h4350, and cci 450 is my load! I shot a 4" group at 700yds this afternoon from prone. I'm averaging 3012fps and this load is near max for this combination of parts. 39.5gr left a very slight ejector wipe so definitely work this load up to be safe.

How long is the neck? Ackleyman II has been running some around .400" in length. Stellar throat / bbl life.
See post on 6xc long term commitment. :)

Tubb told me that if he ever made a change it would be to add a longer neck with a 30 degree shoulder. My buddy Terry resized a 243 case to the 6XC shoulder height using a 6Br die just for fun. It was EXACTLY what Tubb was talking about...

I mean think about it, no more changing FB problems. You could use the 115 DTAC all the way down to a 70 grain bullet in the same chamber with a relatively short FB.

Being of meager means, that was exactly my intention when Ackleyman II and I collaborated on this abt 3 yrs ago and I suggested the Palma brass for the srp to get over the 3k fps w the heavies.

This kind of thinking i like.....a bonker crazy length of neck will remove so many potential issues.
Why in this day and age settle for old ways of thinking, especially with so many brass manufacturers out there willing to make up small batch stuff.

Just to add, I wonder if guys running a 7wsm with such a neck on a case, the benefits would work even moreso.....

I'm liking this...

Many apologies for the hijacking of the thread... just a bit of excitement going on...!

That looks a lot like the old 6mm International (Michael Walker's take on the 6mm-250) but with a slightly longer body and less body taper.
