I have been using my 6x47 Rem a bit lately, and on its competition debut we got a first place 8)
It shoots like stink and I have complete confidence that if a shot wanders into the 9 ring, it was me!
I am using 28.6gn's of ADI BM8208 (I'm Australian) under a Speer 70gn TNT jammed 0.010" lit by CCI BM4 primer in fully prepped Sako brass.
It shoots 0.25" no problems with the rifle in a stock that's not the most bench friendly for tiny groups. I am no bench shooter either and I recon in a better stock, better projectiles and more experienced benchrest hands it would crack into the .1's with ease, but for the shooting I built it for, its accurate enough to hit the 10.1 dot every time at all distances.
I have experienced problems with feeding with my modified magazine. I have removed the 223 spacer to give my full 308 mag length in the standard Remington magazine. I modified a 308 magazine spring to hold a 223 follower at the rear of the magazine, but I am having problems with bullets jumping out of the magazine before the projectile hits the ramp designed to lift the front of the bullet up.
I am in the process of making a half thickness spacer and will go back to the 223 length spring to try and give better forward support to the bullet as it slides forward in the magazine.
I want to get the standard magazine working as a detachable mag setup would get in the way of my hand placement during offhand shooting.
Hell... I like it soooo much, I even sold my .222
Edit.... next step is to get the 80gn Berger's I have shooting with some slow burning powder, ADI 2206H which is the equivalent of 4895. I foresee compressed loads
