6 Dasher first shots

Took out my new 6 Dasher today for the first time. Shot some fireforming loads that were surprisingly accurate. The first two pics below are fireforming loads with RL15 and Hornady 105HPBT bullets at 540 yards. The full power loads were using Varget and 105 Berger hybrid bullets at 540 yards.

Full power loads

By "fireforming" are you talking about blowing 6BR brass out for the first time, or have they already been formed/hydroformed?

Are you using the false sholder method?

Litteraly..the most accurate combo I have in my LR bench guns is my fireforming loads in my dasher (31G varget/105 Berger BT/CCI450s using the false sholder method with lots of crush.

They were hydro formed and I used 30.3g of RL15

Pretty nice group. Must have been calm with no mirage. I heard of days like that.

You got that shooting.

Took it back out yesterday to verify the load and then shot some at different seating depths. Looks like the original touching the lands was the best. Last time it was 1.898" this time it was 1.696". I think I am going to like the 6Dasher. Group on the left was the same as the first time. Other four were .010 jam, .010 jump, .020 jump, and .030 jump.

Oh you'll like it alright! I've got a buddy that just put together a Dasher. We've been shooting 6br fast twist's for most of last year and our score's went through the roof at 300 yards. My buddy got the nod with 35-37 X average's in our 40 round match's down in Towanda P.A. This year they are moving back to 500 yards for the Bench Class match's and hopefully I can swing a Dasher,,, but if not I'll have to place my shots carefully with the BR. Hope you really enjoy your Dasher.

I also have had good luck with the Hornady 105 HPBT bullet's out to 1000 yards they held true.

Regards,
Dan

Shot these two groups again at 540 yesterday. Left one is same load as before and right one was using a different primer and jumping the bullet .030"

Nice groups.....
Very close to the same outcome to both seating positions. With the slight edge vertically going to the closer setting depth.

Your rocking it with that Dasher and those Hornaday 105 bthp's. What barrel do you have screwed on that Savage? ;)
