LEARNED FROM 20 SHOTS WITH DASHER BRASS

I thought about this when trying to make Norma Dasher brass from Lapua 6.5x47 brass. It is doable using a standard 6BR FL or body die and finishing in a Dasher FL die, but the necks turn out very thick (.0150) and the case is so heavy you don't gain any capacity.
Upside is not having to fire form, and a 30 deg shoulder would mean you wouldn't have to even buy Dasher dies. Just bump the shoulder with 6BR dies and resize the base with a .308 FL die. And you would end up with some VERY strong brass.
Best solution I see is to use Lapua 6BR brass and live with the short neck, which will grow with each firing. It would be a LONG time before you would need to trim and the only downside would be the need to clean the carbon buildup from the chamber neck in the meantime, which I do anyway.

And yet others do seem to have issue. Do you speak for them?
That is the nice thing about open forum we all have an opinion good or bad if you don't like mine I dont have a problem with it whatsoever I am happy with what I see with this brass when someone proves I am totally wrong I would be the first to say I was wrong.

George -
The big difference with your input to the S/N-Dasher brass, your's is from first hand experience from trying and using it, and not speculation and skepticism like others who haven't.
My own experience with it is similar to yours, and I see a lot of advantages to it over Lapua made.

For anyone just starting out with a 6Dasher, and not already having Lapua brass and setups, it's kind of a "no brainer" to go the S/N-Dasher route and gear up around it instead - IMO.

A very good point Donovan thanks.

Thanks, I needed that.

That Varget bottle in the picture is not full of the Varget it came in. I took 24 lbs and two different lots, plus some other odd 1# lots and stirred them all in a big boiler. Kind of scary when I did it but wanted them mixed together as much as is reasonable.

Oops. That's another topic.
As do l ....
