I have finally just said to heck with it and bought a Tikka in 6.5 CM to hunt whitetail here in S. Texas... I was looking for a light recoil , light weight rifle and this one appears to be it... I tried to go sight it in and get some data to day and after a 40 mile drive I didn't have my tripod for the lab radar.... Figures....
This thing will be used on S. Texas whitetail as stated , they are small animals maybe 100 lbs... Then maybe for some small hogs also... Any good bullet out there that you're using and know it will get the job done in this caliber..???? Once I get some factory data I will be reloading for it..
I have seen videos where deer get hit and run away but I have seen some large animals killed with it... I have 6mm Remington , 30.06 which is useless for these deer unless you only want half a deer and a long distance setup heavy rifle in .308... So I have rifles that will get the job done for sure but I would like to use this light Tikka in this light recoiling 6.5CM round... I understand about shot placement being key but anybody else using this on whitetail with good luck and what ammo or bullet do you really like...
Thanks in advance...
Shawn
