>>>>>PIC.... Which 25/06 Bullet Best for DRT... DEER??<<<<<<

100g ballistic tips-tougher bullet than you would ever think; hot load of R#19, win primer, win case. If your rifle does not like a ballistic tip, then try the Speer 100g hot core.

117g Sierra have been my choice-bullet worth building a rifle around along with a 120g speer Hot core, hot load of R#25, fed 215's, win case

Yea i don't think so. I saw in Douglas CO an antelope hit with a 300 win mag with Nosler petition bullets. Lope was hit so hard it blew his sternum and his lungs were visible from the front still ran 75 yds. Some animals have a will to live and are just plain old tough.

This is really good stuff Guys. I'm kind of a speed freak anyways... so I'm hoping the Hot Rod 25//06 will lay them out flat on the ground at the sound of the shot.... may they never hear it.

I shoot 117 Hornady sst and interlock. But out of you group those 100 gr ballistic tips would be it. Push them pretty hard. They kill like lightning!!

There is no "best" anything. DRT is a function of bullet placement, as much as the bullet itself. I like the heavier bullets in a 25-06. I load some 120 speers for my buddy and they kill deer real well. I do not load light-for-caliber bullets in anything.

This buck I shot with a 115 gr Nos Bal Tip 257 bullet from a 257 ROberts Ackley rimmed, that has case capacity near the 25-06.
The buck was so long, his nose was dragging on the floor. The butchers said that usually only happens with elk.

JHMO:

For bullet selection, Hammer Bullets is an excellent choice. Great terminal performance, and very easy to work up a load. Since the all-copper bullet retains mass better than a lead bullet, you don't need to start with a heavier bullet to be effective. Consequently, a 100gn slug will be perfect for deer, which means you get the additional benefit of a flatter trajectory. The 103gn Hammer Hunter will shoot like a laser out of a 25-06.

25-06 + 103gn HH is just about the perfect deer killer combination.
