45 caliber smokeless muzzleloader

I went down the Swinglock die rabbit hole with the .45 drop, off a Brux SML barrel. Total waste of a LOT of time trying to get it to work. Every hunting bullet I tried needed a hydraulic press to push them through the die. They then needed to be indexed to the rifling in the barrel. Then fool around with wads. Accuracy was crap compared to Hornady 200 SSTs and smooth blue harvester sabots. Anyone else's mileage may vary but I wouldn't touch that system with a ten foot pole.
I struggled with sizing Hornaday 0.452 dia bullets, had to run through the Swinglock twice which took a bit of thought and a magic marker but the accuracy was still excellent. However, the Hornaday jackets had some springback and wouldn't stay sized after a few days.

Then I bought some 0.451 dia Parkers which sized smooth as butter and no springback. I run a muzzlebrake so I built a very simple tool from a 45 ACP case and machine screw to grip the sized bullet for loading with propper land and groove alignment. Works very slick, I'm able to reload in less than a minute easy. Have busted back to back deer several times in under a minute.

Super idea, it's a PITA removing my brake every time, thanks for that...

Where do you set the flint?

ISS
No flint. You prime a module, generally a magnum LRP, some use regular LRP, Hankins might offer a SRP module I believe. The module slips in the bolt face recess with the ejector removed.

This is a .45 cal Arrowhead ML but I changed the ignition system to a Hankins. I also restocked it with a McMillan HTG stock and in doing so I used a Hankins rod retaining block for the ramrod. It all works great. It's a smokeless ML but I've never used smokeless in it. I run 113.5 gr of Blackhorn behind a 327 grain Parker Black Max at 2450 FPS. With the custom funnel, you can pour the powder and start the bullet through the brake. As you can see, it shoots pretty good...
