Central is 11”
Second target.
S2, 1,2,3 shot at same elevation setting.
Shot 7 was definitely me, got a bit excited after 4,5&6 landed together
8,9,10 and 11 another good group.
The difficulty increases exponentially each 100yards you move beyond 1000yards.
There’s a pairs match at the same range next weekend at 8,9 and 1000yards. Really looking to see how it goes at these more typical ranges.
What is wrong with H4350 ?
I use H4350 in the one 300WSM I shoot with an 11 twist and 200-20X bullets. My velocity is 2930 and I am fairly close to max with that load. I believe if you went with H4350 and the 215s you might end up at a velocity level BELOW 2850. I have not tried H4350 with the 215s. However, just judging from the velocities of the extremely short bearing surfaced bullet of the 200-20x, you may have trouble getting near 2910-2920 mark with the 215s..Great for 200 & 210's, should work with the 215's as well. - I tried H4831 ssc and haven't tried H4350 yet with the 215

My experience with .284 Win, Shehane and .300 WSM is that they are all capable of equal accuracy. The difference, as you noted, is the wide tuning window and forgiving nature of .300 WSM. It is easier to find and hold tune with .300 WSM.Here is something I didn't see mentioned. Maybe the difference in points is also contributed by the fact they seem to be more accurate then other cartridges. They don't seem to be thrown out of tune as quick by the changing atmospheric and temp changes. I am basing my opinion of shooting other cartridges and 12 years experience shooting the WSM at 1000 yard BR. I have seen the 284 and most 7mm cartidges shot and they just seem to be not as accurate as the 300 WSM. It sure does win its share of Aggregates and world records in 1000 yard BR. Matt
Ben,
Congrats on win. I tried to use my 6.5 CR for match at Williamsport (PA) and got smacked by wind pretty bad. After 2 matches, I am getting a new barrel chambered for 300 WSM and your information helped me tremendously. I wanted to go with 230 hyd, but decided to go with 215.
Thank you again.
Hey we are all here to help one another whenever possible. I am just starting out on this "journey" if you will and have A LONG way to go.. But I had to start somewhere and the 30 cal seemed to be the best place to start, at least from my point of view.Ben,

Hey Doug! I believe that if David Mann, John Myers and Ken Dickerman had been present, there would have been "a few" more "30s" in the top ten!AFAIK Ben had the only 30 cal in the top 10. The rest were 7MM's, one 7 WSM, a couple 7 Saums, and the rest 284 Variants.
