.30-06 F-Class Rifle

You Sir are a RACIST!! Admit it and move on.;):D
Pretty sad when you have to choose your words so as NOT to offend someone. Might just as well keep your mouth shut and not say ANYTHING.
Where's that doll so you can point and show me just where you were offended/hurt?

Give me a break!!! Can we not even discuss something where there is absolutely NO racism stated or implied, & a large percentage of comments attack the name??!!!! Country is further down the road to Hell than I had hoped!! My Labrador Retriever named Duchess died a few years ago. Guess what, all you whiners; she was a Black Bitch. a lot of you need to get a life!!

I have tried all four 4350's...that being IMR, Hogdon, Shooters World and AA.

For my rifle, IMR4350 gives me the best performance. H4350 comes in at a close 2nd, Shooters World is accurate powder. But as I stated before, it takes about 1.5 to 2 grains more to get the same velocity as IMR4350. I have not given up on it though. Accurate Arms powder gave me the worst accuracy out of all four. Its dirty too.

Maybe other have had different success. I am shooting my last F class match this Weds for the league that I am involved in. Inam looking forward to it it because I know the rifle will hammer unless I screw up.
Thanks for the info and good luck at your first match .

You sound like you know your rifle (and your load) inside and out.

I would bet that there are a dozen of us right now who are seriously rethinking the old 30-06. There's a lot of long actions out there begging for rebirth. jd
I'm one for sure. I have an old Rem 700 in 06 that I haven't used in some years. Thinking of rekindling that relationship. I put time into shooting 185 VLDs in my 308. They shot fabulous but pretty slow. I think the 06 would run them another 150 fps faster easily and with less drop and better wind hold.

Yes and what about your offending fat people? You definitely need sensitivity training.
I'm not offended, and I'm a fat bastarad.
I have not. I have read that the twist rate for them is 1:9. However, i personally think that Sierra sometimes exaggerates their bc of their bullets. I have shot the 195 TMKs and also the 195 Hornady ELD M's. The pic attached was from the 195 ELD M's at 300 yrds.View attachment 1127762
Nice shooting rifle.

You got to add bald to my description and I resemble that remark. If the liberals ever figure out the truth, well, they just can't handle the truth. The statement "it is what it is" is the simple truth.
I have a long action that I have seriously been considering doing a Remage on. I was thinking about a 6 Creedmoor but my FTR rifle is .308 and the 30/06 will push the 185 Bergers pretty good. Only thing is I have titanium fuseing my neck and recoil is getting to where it bothers it. That's the reason for thinking about the 6 Creedmoor . I like .30 cal cartridges but those little 6's have a lot going for them, specially less recoil. Kinda like a liberal in I just can't decide anything anymore.

Except you have good reason. The 6-6.5s are fabulous rounds with much less recoil. Brakes are awful helpful and not bad in the medium 30 cartridges. Nobody around you likes them while your shooting but saves alot of beating

What has saved my shoulder is the fact that I added a mercury filled recoil reducer into the buffer tube of the chassis and then the Fat Bastard brake. I have to take thew brake off durin g F Class matches, however, the difference without it being on is not noticed.

My problem is shooting prone . The way they fused my neck I hurt for 3-4 days afterward. The recoil I can handle but don't enjoy it much. I have a 03 Springfield and have always had good luck with IMR 4895. I use H4895 in my .308's and should use it in the 06. I've shot some steel here lately and like it.

Suppressor is another pricy option. It eliminates the use of hearing protection in 80% of the rifles

I have learned that when I try to reload for several calibers, you lose the sharpness on all. I like to focus on one caliber, 30--06, try to shoot it well

I cannot own one in communist Illinois

Loading several calibers works ok for me just not too many. Loading several too often together can cause issues tho. I'm pretty much a two cartridge loader these days. Deer and varmint cartridge.

I have been interested in a 30-06 chambered with a Serengeti reamer for a few years and there is an above average chance that my next barrel will be just that. Thanks for the post.

Then if that's the case, you really should buy the PT&G Serengeti reamer.

Here are my results with the last mid range match our league had yesterday. I shot this with The Black Bitch.

190 Berger Vld's are the right pill for this barrel. This was shot at 300 using a 600 yrd reduced target. Wind was mild, 7 mph at 2 o'clock.
