I do a full length resize in a traditional short base die, however....i have removed the decapping rod and the ball...i do not use this at all. I use a Sinclair neck turning mandrel to open the mouth out to give me a .0002ths press fit.

I have used old Winchester brass that is new old stock. I think the stuff made today by Winchester, isn't as good as their product made a couple of years back. I use Lapua and have had great results...but the actual stunner that will leave you in disbelief is Sellier & Bellot. I picked up a batch of this and gave it a try. The necks are already at .00013ths. It has the same h20 volume as Winchester and it shoots lights out. I will get more of this brass in the future.
As far as primers, i was using a regular CCI 200. However, i have had excellent results with the Tula Magnum primer. I am using 51.5 grains of IMR4350 and I am using the Berger 190 VLD. The coal is 3.40. I have used 190 SMKs backed off the lands .00020ths. These have shot well, however, the Berger shoot more precise put of my rifle.
Yes. I would compare it to the Winchester that was of yesteryear. Surprisingly, the Sellier & Bellot performs excellent. I shot a 149 -11X and a 150 - 7X using that brass. I will use it again.
All 3006 cased will have case wall thickness runout. Remington is the worse. I will not shoot it. Winchester and Sellier & Bellot are neck in neck and just a hair under Lapua as far as case wall thickness runout.

How about federal cases ? I have several hundred 30-06 from federal premium ammo that I've saved over the years. How's the quality of federal brass in 06 ? I use it for fireforming 22-250 AI and 260 AI. Seems pretty decent in those cartridges.

Federal is an excellent choice too. Their quality is very good and I have shot it before. I just have an abundance of Winchester, Lapua and now some Sellier and Bellot.
I would have no compunction to shoot Federal brass.

Ha, funny you should say something. I learned a while back that the word "boy" is racist. No joke. I was called a racist by an inmate for saying the word boy. To me, it's just a word, as in a young male. To this day, I have NOT stopped using the word boy as a way to cave to the liberal ideology.

I have not. I have read that the twist rate for them is 1:9. However, i personally think that Sierra sometimes exaggerates their bc of their bullets. I have shot the 195 TMKs and also the 195 Hornady ELD M's. The pic attached was from the 195 ELD M's at 300 yrds.
