250-3000 Ackley Improved loves H-100V

Started this one a few years ago, and got busy with more important stuff, and just now got back to it..The more H-100V powder you dump in it the smaller it shoots. Even the 40.0 grain fire form loads are pretty serious, and they are compressed..Not a single sign of pressure with the 95 grain Berger match bullet and still have a tiny bit of powder room, but will probably need my drop tube.. Time will tell.....

Thanks for the info. I just had to have one built on a Rem 700 for hunting after reading 2 articles by Glenn Burroughs in PS magazine. I am totally happy with the cartridge and the build. After having tried all the deer size chamberings put out by the major rifle companies - I wanted something different yet nostalgic. This fit the bill nicely. I did stock up on brass (RP and Win) and bullets 100 gr Nosler BT's at the start of the build (2013).

Preacher your going to let the cat out of the bag and supplies will dry up. About 10 years ago I tried a pound at a friends recommendation. My results are just like yours.

That stuff is also the best I've ever used in a few 7mm SAUMs with 140's....

@Preacher ,

I'm kinda scratching my head about your bullet...
I remember when Berger used to have I think it was an 89gr 25 caliber bullet.

I've got their 115gr VLD. But I can't find much for a 95gr bullet aside from Cutting Edge Bullets.

Edit to say that Hybrid 100V works great in 257 Roberts with 100-115gr bullets!

They don't make the 95 grain match bullet any more.. I hunt with the 115's in my 10 twist 25/284's..

Double checked a few loads and 44.0 will be the go to....
I have some 25 Creedmore Alpha brass on the way, I'll form to this and see what happens..
Also looks like my Lilja barreled little Ruger 17 Mach 2 is ready for Squirrels....
