Have you tried any of the heavies with that brass? I wasn't sure if that'd work with the shorter neck. I'm gonna build a fast twist rifle soon to try a local competition out but mainly for hunting

I'm shooting standard 250 Savage with a $100 over run special from E.R. Shaw.
Standard 25 caliber 1:10 twist.
It's screwed onto a Savage Axis II action.
For brass I'm necking up PPU 22-250 brass.
Mild load of Alliant Varmint with the 75gr Sierra HP Varmint is getting 3,150fps from a 24" barrel.

The problem with ai is when you fireform the neck shortens because the brass flows via the path of least resistance which is flowing from the neck back to fill out the shoulder and body expansion. I shoot 100 gr barnes tsx in mine with no issues. Mine is a 10 twist. I was also going to build a 22-250ai but decided to try the 22XC which I really like and is about the same thing but with a longer neck, 8 twist. Urbanrifleman did the barrel for me. Did a very good job. Simply neck down 6xc brass and go. Might do a 25 xc one day. Enjoy
