250-3000 Ackley Improved like H-100V

Started this one a few years ago, and got busy with more important stuff, and just now got back to it..The more H-100V powder you dump in it the smaller it shoots. Even the 40.0 grain fire form loads are pretty serious, and they are compressed..Not a single sign of pressure and still have a tiny bit of room, but will probably need my drop tube.. Time will tell.....

I’m glad you’re sharing Preacher, I always enjoy your posts. My dad had a 250-3000 improved years ago and still talks about it once in awhile, claims it was his favorite improved cartridge and he’s had a bunch of them.

Interesting, I've never heard or seen them available before..

I've got a 250 ackley improved =my own reamer based on the 22-250 case Slightly shorter neck.
I completely adore it.
Cut specifically for Berger 115's, Brux barrel 8.5twist

I wonder what a properly twisted barrel would do speed wise with the Berger 135 from that case.

A 7 1/2 twist in a 250-3000 AI is basically a 25 Creedmore and they will run that bullet at over 2800 FPS...

I run that bullet in my 25/284 XP-100, anything inside of 356 yards better find a safe spot...

I've been collecting parts. A nice young man gave me a set of 257 bob dies and I have an Arisaka action, my cousin gave me a bunch of walnut that his dad cut years ago, and an old carpenter I used to work with gave me a big walnut tree trunk that is good and dry. A barrel and a reamer and I have another project to add to the list. I need to get going on that list.
