.224 53 Gr. VMax... WHY???

Had a Bartlein 1-8" that would disintegrate the 53 Vmax about 40% of the time. Running them close to 3850 fps. Thought I had a GREAT group!!
You are over spinning the bullets to death. Your bullet RPM is 346,500 and you should keep your bullet RPM’s at 305,000. Slow them down and they won’t disintegrate on you.

Great little bullet... They have performed well on paper and fur for me thus far.. I was introduced via the Hornady Superformance Round in 53g Vmax. Have since acquired 53g Vmax bullets to reload but haven't done a side by side comparing my hand loads to factory...

In good .224 barrels, like the URM and others sell, there will be multiple accurate varmint bullet brands/weights. Speer,Nosler,Hornady,Sierra,Bart's,BIB and others. Price point, for me, is important for shooting. Example I shoot Bart's for hunting coyote(40-50 most winters) prairie dogs usually a vmax or TNT.

53vmax, 26" 1-8 Wilson barrel, new load 3440 fps. I have ran them up to 3500 fps in this barrel, they all make it to the target in 1 piece.

29". Talked to Hornady and they said the same thing about overspinning them. Shoot them out of a 1-12" and they work great.
Just ordered 10 boxes of the 55 BK from Urban Rifleman to try them out. Have some 55 hp #1390 to try also.

They run just as good in my 26" 12 twist and 20" 9 twist. These 2 barrels I shot them with IMR3031. My 8 twist 26" is getting SW Match Rifle. That 29" barrel may be compounding the problem in an 8 twist running that the bullet at 3850 fps. It's amazing how friction builds up in a longer faster twist barrel pushing a bullet that fast.

For less than wayyyyyy out there PD shots the 55gr Blitzking is a great bullet, especially with regard to splat factor. The Blitzking has a thinner jacket than does Sierra's Matchking and the lead is also softer in the BK's than it is in their MK's.

Question,.. Will the 55 gr. BK's, "Shoot, WELL" in, a 1-14 Twist, .22-250 Rem. barrel, does anyone,.. KNOW ??
Or, do I need to try,.. the 50 BK's ?
The 55 gr. Bal Tips shot "good" in my 1-14 Tw in summer, THEN, the group's, turned to, "Crap", IN, Cold, Weather.
They are, LONG ( .817" long, was, my last Batch of, NBT's ).
How long are, the 55 grain, BK's ?
Thanks, in advance !

Just ordered 10 Boxes of your .224 55Gr. Blitz Kings. Looking forward to trying them in my Remington 700 VSSF II 26" TW: 1/12.

Thanks
