I took one of my stepsons friends shooting. He has NEVER shot a precision rifle.

This is the 223 load 22.5 AR COMP with the 80 smk. These were run on my Hornady PROGESSIVE.

All the groups he shot.

This is a 7 shot group.

Without that one dropped shot that would have been less than .25".

2780ish.

23.5 is also good. It's 2880ish.

22.5 is a go to service rifle load in an AR-15 with an 80 smk.

Excellent. I've killed prairie dogs with a 53vmax out to over 550 yards in my 7 and 8 twist Urbanrifleman barrels.

And I watched him do it!
I have the same barrel and it shoots 53g Vmax just fine--I think the added rotation from the 7 twist puts extra "whack" in it when it meets a PD and the Vmax can take the extra RPM

We shot the 223 ISSF 7 twist with the 53 vmax on the progs today. Outstanding.

Yes. I guess I was assuming that finished cut on the chamber and throat are made at the same time, but I can see where you might cut them separately. My brain was just following the time tested pattern of "If it can run a heavier bullet, then how can I stuff more powder in it?"

Just need a reamer made.

Went shooting went my wife and stepson. We were finished up and I wanted to shoot a few groups with the Frontier 75 grain ammo. Grabbed the wife's 223 ISSF 7 twist rifle and shot these two. The warm up group was the left one.
