22-250 deer bullet

I’ve shot many dozens with Sierra 1365’s and H4895 out of 22-250’s on deer damage permit. I also have had very good luck with hornady 55&60sp

Nosler’s 64gr BSB is an excellent deer bullet. I load them in my daughter’s 22-250 with BL-C2. Not the fastest load but it will flatten deer. Depending on brass capacity you should top out at 34-36grs.
Agree with this. 60 gr Partitions have had very spotty availability. The Nosler 64 BSB is an excellent bullet and will hold up well to 22-250 velocities without issue and provide pass throughs. While not a cheap bullet, they are not nearly as expensive as a Partition or Barnes. It has worked great for me on several hogs out of a 223 running around 2850 fps. It also will generally stabilize in fairly slow twist barrels.

Another good option is the Speer 55 Gold Dot. Similar bonded construction to the BSB.

Cup and core bullets like the Spire Point will work too but penetration can sometimes be lacking.

A freind has a Browning lever action 22-250 he bought used. Came with primers, fired cases and a can of BL-C (2) powder. Wants to reload and hunt deer but needs a good bullet for the powder he has. He has some 55gr FMJs but the seller said not to use them because of high pressure (?) plus I told him it wasn't a good hunting bullet anyway.
Before going through the trouble of selecting a load, check with your state’s fish and game department to see if there is a minimum caliber for hunting deer. For example, in Virginia it must be greater than .23 caliber.

Another vote for 60 grain Partitions. My 1-12 stabilizes them fine. Used them on mule deer and whitetails with very good results, but range were sub 250ish and shots were of the broadside approach.

Probably not available nowadays, but on another forum, a recommended bullet was the WW 64gr sp. Never used one on deer, as the landowner wanted us to use larger caliber bullet. His land, his rules.

Not a .22-250 but I have a 9 twist 20in .223. I have killed several deer with both the 55gn Hornady spitzer with cannelure and the 70gn Speer semi spitzer.

64g Bonded Solid Base from Nosler, as wb30378 commented. It is shorter and has a larger meplat. It ends up on the off skin a good 85-90%. Perfect for deer.
