20 Pratical Barrel Question

Recently got a Savage model 10 in 20 Practical here on AS. It has a Shilen barrel at 26" and 10tw. I used to shoot a 20P AR upper with 24" bull barrel 10tw, and both rifles shoot a 40 Vmax extremely well. The AR did well with 32 grain too, haven't tried any in the Savage. The new rifle with the 26" barrel with .8125" OD at tip, and no scope or rings, it weighs 10 pounds. With scope and rings 11 pounds 9 ounces.

Well I got mine back. Buddy wanted a RBLP action, he is played with it as a 223. I was going to put my 20VT on it, then the stupid screw spacing, HS or Mcree is the only option. Going to tear this SOB back apart and it will have 4 screw holes it come spring!! This rifle has made me made from the start. I got so mad about the screw spacing I ordered the last RBRP Northland had in stock at the time just to finish the project.
The factory 223 barrel shot ok, but was no where near any of my other LRP rigs from the factory.
Bought a 204 factory take off. It didn’t shoot any better than my small shank, so it went down the road also.
About decided factory barrels are about like factory CB molds, they work but nothing to brag about.
My 17 Remington Shilen barrel and Preferred Barrels 22BR are boring. The 22 Nosler barrel (Preferred) on a Howa mini is good, but with hand loads it is great.
May get really PO’d and get another bolt face and make it into another BR of some sort, a 22CM has peaked my interest also.

I have a 24" bolt and 22" AR in 20P. There is nothing better than a braked 20P with a suppressor...the gun doesn't even move.
