mysticplayer,
Part number is 28550 for the 100 count box, 28750 for the 500 count box. Bob Beck at Extreme Outer Limits should have them in stock.

Appreciate the info... I am a Berger Dealer in Canada so will add to my next order.

Eat barrels????

barrel makers are thinking Xmas came early this year :-)

Jerry

FYI,
Bullet on left is 195 next to 180 Hybrid. Orange color on tips is reflection from box.

I am so glad I planned and already have in my hands, a couple 1:9 twist gain to 1:8.25 twist barrels.

also, thanks to the location of stock. just ordered me some bullets. going to have my smith chamber me a barrel and go from there.

i bought extras to distribute amongst the f-class shooters in the Sac Valley area. We will be putting these to the test ;)

Sadly, they're of no use to F-Class shooters here in the UK as they're of the 'Hunting' variety in the orange box. Expanding bullets can only be bought and loaded by those whose 'good reason' for firearms ownership is live quarry shooting and whilst the resulting rounds can be used on rifle ranges for testing and zeroing, not in competition.

This also affects the 6mm 87gn Hunting VLD, the dual-purpose deer / match bullet designed to give off the shelf 243 Win rifles and similar a usable mid to long-range bullet stabilised in factory rifle twist rates.

Dang, sorry to hear that Laurie......Rules, rules, rules....... >:(

I hoping the guys who've done some initial testing of the 195 EOLs can comment on the following question.

Are you finding that the powder(s) that worked well with the Berger 180 Hyb in your rig are working well with the 195s?

I'm assuming the charge weights will need to be adjusted slightly to find the appropriate velocity node. I'm just looking for some guidance as to whether I need to start completely over with load testing several powders or if I can utilize past successes with the 180 hybrids as a starting point.

Thanks.

In testing them in my 7/270 WSM I used my normal powder H-4831sc. I just reduced my load 5 grains to be safe and worked up to find the best shooting load. Remember these are thin jacketed Hunting bullets. Shoot 20- 30 rounds fast three times a day at your own risk.

Could you please tell me, what is diameter of the bullet (4th decimal point)? Does it has pressure ring? Need it for my reamers FB diameter...

The 195 Berger could be a game changer on many fronts. It clearly has a great BC, but what is the accuracy of the bullet and how does it hold waterline at 1000? That data may have been posted. If so, I missed it.

I see that the straight 1.25 7mm barrels are running about $400 each. Steve Blair has given a very fair educated guess at competitive accuracy in the 1000 count range. If you shot a heavy F-Class schedule (or long range prone) using the 195, I think it is fair to say you will run 3,000 bullets a season. So $1,200 in barrels (3). Somewhere around $1,200 in chambering (3) for $2,400 to get going -- on just barrels and chambering. Then, God forbid, the 195 does not want to shoot in your gun (like many 6mm 115s). Ouch! A gamble that must be taken.

Ah, the sweet price of world class competition and performance. A price that must be paid to run with the big boys. Your 195 build must leave no corners cut. You must get the very best components and set up possible. If you don't, you are not likely to to be a Champion or place high in the standings as you will fall short of those who know what they are doing and have left NOTHING to chance. And, when all is said and done, those that can read the wind with the 180 will likely beat the ones who can't using the 195. There is no magic bullet -- it is just part of the total shooting package. You must have a TOTAL shooting package that puts you in a position to be a Champion -- physically, mentally, and equipment wise. Reality never hides from those who look for it in their pre-build planning. Reality tells you that you must know the questions before you get the answers. Hope for Championships without a solid plan for Championships is nothing but a wish.

Morpheus, that is good but not as good as the .27 cents per bullet they were last week! Hopefully they have that special again when they clear the shelves for the 195's.

Man I must have slept on that one! I just bought some "secondhand" 180gr Bergers for 33cents/ea shipped. I thought I made a good buy.

It was a very quick deal and a little stressful that I could not hit the add to cart and process the card in time to buy more !

The current deal at 36 cents isn't bad. I'm hoping they do something similar with the 230 hybrids since those are the same price everywhere I have searched.

I DID NOT need to lengthen the FB for the 195, I ran it out another .039 inches, which is what I measured as the ogive length difference between the 180 and the 195. Again, that's just touching the lans with the 195.

Want to make sure I understand this correctly... are you saying the COAL difference between the 180's and the 195 is 0.039 inches, when both are touching the lands? (190 being longer)

No, not the COAL; but, the difference in start of the forward bearing surfaces that first engage the lans. It seems that the COALs varried significantly more than that?

LBart,

what is the overall lenght of the 195gr bullet ? How does the dimensions (bearing wall) compare to a 180gr Scenar L ?

Is the thin jacket will affect precision, or either blowout in a Bisley style type of F-Class match ?

thanks sir

Yes, curious about how much extra overall length increase over the 180 hybrid there will be. Wondering how much room I'll have in the magazine.
