Any heavy 7mm Berger updates?

I am wondering if anyone has an update about the expected release date of the new heavy (195g?) Hybrid bullet that Berger is working on in 7mm?

I have an 8 twist 7mm barrel that may need to try them out.

I am just beginning load testing on my .284 Shehane. I'd be interested in another Hybrid to try. He BC would have to be in the mid 7's on a 195! I'll be watching this topic!

Not to discourage you, but I doubt the .284 Shehane has enough boiler capacity to drive a 195g bullet. I can't even get the 180 Hyb up to speed in my 30" Shehane. I was already starting the transition to a magnum case, a 7-300WSM in my case, when news broke on the 195g EOL. The only change I've made in response is to spec a slightly longer freebore (0.220") on my reamer in case the 195g actually arrives and performs up to expectation. Good luck!

The heavy bully's donn have to be pushed that hard. I don't push any of mine hard anyway. The 185's out of my .308 are only mid 2600's. I'm happy with that!

I was considering a 284 Shehane build when I heard about the heavy 7mm bergers so changed my planned twist rate from 1-9 to 1-8 in case they arrived on the market early. But getting the rifle shortly so will probably have worn out the barrel by the time these are available on the market ::)

2950 is easy out of the Shehane with the 180s, I shot the 190g Wildcats at 2875 fps. I would think a 195g Berger driven at 2850 fps or so out of the Shehane with a BC in the upper 7s would look pretty good at 1000 yards. 2900+ fps is likely possible with RL17, I think it will work out just fine if you have the twist for it.

Disappointed the Berger people havent weighed in yet.
