I guess I'm not sure what you mean. I was not out of the Country, but out in the country (i.e. countryside).

Barrel breaking is going well, as is me getting used to the 6.5lb mil-spec trigger...

Rifle:
DPMS upper, DPMS barrel 6.5 Creedmoor
ALG mil-spec trigger
LR-308 standard issue hardware.

Load: 142 Sierra MK, 39.2gr H4350 (selected from estimated results from previous pressure testing). Federal 210M primer.

All groups are 5 shot groups, I'm measuring Center to center, seems reasonable for the time being.

Shot from bench using Versapod Bipod and rear bag
Scope is the barrel breaking one (Barska Varmint 6-24x42)

Targets shot in this order:
1, 2, 3, 4, 5, Sighter Can you see me figuring out the trigger? Also can you guess which shot on the sighter target I flinched on?

Bump w standings(on page 1), please don't flame me, if you have a problem w me or competition please send pm as to not cludder thread. Just want a freindly competition, I will do my best to organize it but it will not be perfect. I just wanted to be an entry not an organizer of a shooting comp.
But since this thread went dormant and I love shooting comps I'll get it going. I'll do my best! put at least 4, 5 shot groups (20 shots) on 1 target at 100 yds!

Guy,
I'm sorry, you still need to learn to measure your groups.

I don't know about the average, but I pulled his (admittedly poor resolution and without a perfect reference) target into OnTarget and measured out the largest group at .511 and the smallest at .296. It's tough to be entirely accurate since the quality of the target image deteriorates as you zoom in. Still, pretty good shooting and if he's called the "average" to just be all 6 targets added up and averaged out (not sure how useful that metric actually is), then .357 MOA is in the ballpark. However, my opinion is that adding up the minutes of angle and dividing by the number of groups you shot is not telling you anything useful.

Realistically, my preference would be to overlay the groups and measure it like that - assuming that his POA is the same (which is seems to be), my assessment would be that the effective group size is something like a bit over .5 MOA (prolly .511 - .550-ish), which is still pretty good shooting.

Nowhere did I say the groups weren't good for the rig that he has, but when you have groups that are 3 and 4 bullet holes in width or height are .450-.675. A larger photo would help.

Well, and nowhere did I indicate nor even imply that you said anything of the sort. I simply made my own observation.

Geez, you guys are halarious. I zeroed my calipers on 224 and measured outside of black at furthest point. Moboost and Elfster ran 4.5 shooting challenges this way and it was very successful w a lot of participation, over on the hide. I'm not cheating or being dishonest. Why are you guys spending so much time nitpicking my target and not making an entry? Anyway I take it as a compliment in the big scheme of things!!!
I also asked to please not cludder the thread w this kind of stuff , please if it's not an entry or a compliment to an entry start another thread or send a pm to that shooter.

I have watched this thread develop for a long time and have wondered from the very start. Why didn't you just shoot score targets and not have to agonize over measurements? They did the score matches on another site for six years.

Thanks butch, you are right I'm am wrong about the way I measure my groups, all my groups are over .500 even though the id of the center ring is .375. Now please leave me alone, and please do not post unless you have an entry. For everyone else that wants to join this friendly competition what we will do is zero your calipers on the bullet od and then measure from the outside point of the black to furthest outside point of the black. Sorry for all the cludder and wasted time reading, but I'm trying!

Hey Butch not wanting to get in the middle anything but what's your take on my measurement system just want to make sure I have this correct and understand
