Seeking Load Data for fast twist 22-243

Quickload predictions... At least something to start at... It's set to 60,000 psi, but with small primer pocket brass 65,000 psi should be a breeze. 22-243win. 69 TMK ======================================= ======================================= I'll post some specific bullet powder...

    What $500 got me yesterday

Just another way to disarm the good ol freedom fighting folks. EPA is a POS set up to destroy what the government allows and wants gone. Up here in Canada is even worst. Like 1000 % worst. Thus I don't blame USA citizens for wanting to stock up before it's too late.

    223 Ladder Test

Audette Ladder test is based on POINT OF IMPACT... I do mine at 330 yards... If the shots are too close to each other, I more farther out to 400 yards. Velicity is irrelevant,.. only POINT OF IMPACT matters when shooting a Audette Ladder Testing. Once you find a few charge weights that are...

    Shooting .308" bullets in a 7.62x39 barrel. (AR47)

It's normal for a parts kit to include a 308" barrel instead of one that's .3015" - .3012" I always slug the bore and use an actual micrometer... I have 2 SKS's... One I use ALL the time and the other is a collector all #'s matching so it's in the safe all the time. The one I use Mic's @...

    Short barrel 7mm08 ?

My 7mm08 has a 22" bbl (9.5" twist) and I shoot everything from140 VLD to 175 Hornady SP. For anything over 400 yards I use the 140 VLD with 42.5 gr Varget. IRRC it's in the vicinity of 2,775 fps. If I know I'm not gonna get a shot over 300 years, I go with the 139 gr Horn. BTSP or SST (same...

    Inch lb of torque

If the stock has pilars, anything from 45 to 60 will be good to go. I tried many different settings on many different rifles/stocks.... I can only speak for either piller bedded or glass bedded or both, and the chassis type beds. Glass only I'd say 50 in-lbs.... Glass and pillars 50 to 60 is...

30-378 neck forming and belt removal questions

Big problem is if it's not virgin brass and it's already been fired in another chamber you might have chambering issues. There is a company out there that can help solving this issue with a small base type of collett that will squeeze a little bit more right above the belt. I was lucky I was...

Powder dispenser choice. RCBS vs Hornady

Been using my 1500 combo for 13 years and never an issue. Make sure it's 100 % level. The feet are adjustable. I use a billet water level that reads 4 different levels at the same time. Once I have it leveled I press on each corner to make sure the reading doesn't drift. If it drifts...

Need help identifying this 140gr .264 bullet

Like @Kanab Ram mentioned... the more I look at the bullet the more I'm leaning towards a 140 gr Speer Grand-Slam. It has the same cannelure and all. Speer bullets are actually very accurate. Whatever Speer bullet Federal Fusion loads in the their factory loads, is just as good as 90 % of...

    Powder

I bought thousands of primers several years ago when they were still cheap. So I'm using them up as we speak. I bought lots of bricks S&B at $33/brick,... and 210m/215m for $ 50/brick. Hence why I'm still reloading. I still have lots of out of production projectiles like the 105...

    American Reloading Powders

I LOVE W-748... it's about the same as VARGET, maybe a half a hair slower depending on application. And it's NOT very temp sensitive like most folks think. 748 KICKS ASS.

    Powder

Still consider yourselves lucky... I'm in Canada and Primers don't exist. if they do, people are asking over $ 100 for a sleeve of a 100 primers. I've seen them as high as $ 250 for a sleeve of 100 primers.

Powder dispenser choice. RCBS vs Hornady

I still have a Chargemaster 1500 combo with a few mods and I see NO reason to change. https://www.primalrights.com/library/articles/re-programming-rcbs-chargemaster-combo Then I modify the straw mod to make things even better... I cut out a smaller inlet hole... Then for stick powders I use...

223 light bullets short barrel, powder?

If you can find it... N-125 is the ticket for your goal. Otherwise Win-748 would be my 2nd choice.

Need help identifying this 140gr .264 bullet

The one one the right looks like a 140gr Sierra Pro-Hunter. Amazing performance out to 100 yards. I use the .243" 100gr Pro-Hunger in my 243win when hunting short distance. It hits the deer like 10 tons of bricks. I spoke too soon... Looks like Sierra didn't make .264" Pro-Hunter without...

30-378 neck forming and belt removal questions

Here is a piece of the same brass after being fired FULL THROTTLE at least several times... I used a dremel to chop it in half to check for any brass thinning near the base. You be the judge.

30-378 neck forming and belt removal questions

Just an example.... Before sizing... After sizing.... Than's a 0.002" shoulder bump we're after. Thus the belt becomes irrelevant !!!

30-378 neck forming and belt removal questions

I have lots of experience with the 300 win mag... Do NOT remove the belt. Once you fire the brass with a full power load, you may proceedin to headspace the resizing from the shoulder just like any other non-belted cartreidge. All you need is the Hornady Headspace comparator kit and calipers...
