223 light bullets short barrel, powder?

The 40 -Max with Accurate LT32 powder will do you nicely. In the short barrel, Reloader 7 is good too - but can be temperamental from one rifle to another. In a rifle it likes - can be really good, especially with the 50 V-Max
RE 7 if it would work would be cool because it's so fast I think velocity would hold up good in the short barrel.

I have been using the 40 gr Vmax and H322 (24 grains) for at least 20 years in my Savage 223 with a 1-8” twist. Gun started at 22 or 24” but has been cut down to 18”. Still shoots as good as I expect a savage to shoot. The combination worked great for gophers, crows, jack rabbits and a couple mangy coyotes in temperature from -20f to 80f.

In my 1:12 Hart Barrel, exclusively LT-32 with 50-60 grainers. No matter what bullet it’s a tack driver. I use a Harrel’s to dump all my loads, LT-32 meters beautifully.

Can't seem to find any h322, RE7 or 10x.
LT-32 I may revisit at a later date. But at the moment it seems a little excessive to run a $65 powder in a 4# gas gun that might not even group.
I may grab a can of Xterminator just to see how it does. If the gun will shoot then I may grab some LT-32.

I've been useing Xterminator (flows like water) with 40 vmax for a number of years in a NSS 20" lite sporter bbl. 1:9T on Stevens 200 action, and has been chronoed at 3400+ fps with 1/4MOA at 200 yds. Same 40vm with 25gr RL10 gave a bit more than 3400 fps same bbl. It will do a number on pd's just fine out to 3-400 yds.
