Freedom Benchrest members support???

I have been a member and shooting in 1000 Yd Matches for two years. along with friends. I have yet to see any support in tallying or posting any individual early results, It seems like only two clubs show any updates and no life time totals, which have not been updated in two years. Isn't that one of the main reason for belonging to an organization? What dose Freedom Benchrest provide for members???
How much did you pay for your membership in Freedom? How about IBS? How about the big amount you are contributing to this website? Who have you talked with with recommendations to the issuesyou are so upset about?

Life is too short on the backside to complain about what you don't have when you didn't put anything in..

Ease up and try to find something you like about yourself and then go enjoy it!

It takes an army. It doesn't matter, NBRSA, IBS, FREEDOM or whoever. There is a core group, lots of time a small core group that gets things done. There are rules from all three sanctioning bodies that I like, and equally do not like. Cost and time are giant obstacles match directors and recorders have to balance. As stated a few times above my post. Volunteer when you can. Its hard on the same small group of guys to put the matches on and get things finished on the norm. We are hosting our first (Hopefully) big match this year. And as stated it takes an army!

I do like Jim every time I've met him or spoke to him. He gave me nothing to dislike. But I do have to disagree with the direction of the sport. We have more formats than I can count single target agg two target agg three target agg five shots in heavy ten shots in heavy.Nobody's doing the same thing. Some nationals don't follow the rules.Others do. Some use e targets. Some allow twenty two pound in light gun. Some don't. We have rear sandbags that are sandpaper, covered with a piece of fabric. Calling that a sandbag. It's gotten out of control and I don't think it's the right direction, but everyone is welcome to their opinion. There really is no need for a sanctioning body if we're not going to all assimilate and shoot the same game, we could save a lot of effort and just run club matches.

You just named several rules that were voted on by shooters at their respective ranges. Going back to one of your other post in here, that IS shooter ran. These ranges have to do what is in their best interest to gain membership. E targets, rear bags, etc, it’s all voted by the range. What should it matter to you what someone is doing in another area of the country? If you don’t shoot there, it shouldn’t matter. If you like or dislike what one of the ranges are doing, again it was voted by shooters. The rules don’t have to be uniform across the board, that’s why they are different. Most places don’t shoot warm up targets the morning of matches, but some do..

That's fine.If that's what everybody wants to do, then you don't really have a sport. That's my opinion. Every legitimate sport out there has a set of rules that they all follow. F class is doing far better than Br. And far more new shooters are getting involved in that sport and they have not changed their rules. In no way do I think we need to change rules to get new shooters. They don't even know the rules until they get involved.
I'm not familiar with any warm up targets, but it seems like a good waste of the best conditions.
And there was no vote about those rear bags down here.

I’m hearing that each individual range within the org. can vote to have their own rules variations.

Is this correct ?

I'm no competitor in any shooting sport but when I was doing alot of Nascar touring and Late model pavement racing years ago I get were Alex is coming from.
It was a PITA to travel to other tracks that had different rules or we didn't go at all.
I'm sure it effects people who want to go to other ranges that there equipment doesn't match the rules like there local track just like us having to have another car.

Baseball has American and National leagues different rules but Americas sport. Some ranges have pits and some don’t, that’s different so are those not the same sport? And Alex you know first hand that in other sanctions that every range isn’t following the same processes.

I could probably google this but it may be easier for a lazy guy like myself to just ask~ Q : If a guy shoots a record at one range using a mechanical rear and E target, is that record still recognized at another range using paper targets with sand only rear bag ?
Just curious.

It would be an E target record. The thing is, some ranges only have the capacity to shoot E targets. So instead of telling them to kick rocks, because that’s not how our sanction works, there is a place for them in the association.

Sure, pits or no pits, but that doesn't change the format or the rules. You know what I'm trying to say every different sanctioning body has different rules, but within the own body. There is a basic set of rules that they all follow. I think you know the point that I'm trying to make. It's far away from that as it ever has been now

If you are so concerned about the sport, why not reach out personally to someone in leadership of the association instead of getting on a public forum? Alex you get on FB talking about how you’re concerned for the sport. Then you get on this forum, obviously trying to make a divide. This just feels so disingenuous and like you are pushing an agenda, like a someone at the Grammys.
