Stupid question time. Does it take the same bushing as any of the other mfgs, or is Wilson's bushing design unique? Just curious.I sell the LE Wilson 6br and you use a 249 bushing with Lapua brass.

+1 for Forster.I use Forster FL honed to .245. I turn all my necks and this gives the best runout period.
Genuine question here. What is it about the honed Forster dies that eliminates the donut where a bushing die wouldn't?+1 for Forster.
I prefer Forster Honed Dies to bushing dies and as a result no donuts on the neck
Bushing dies don't actually size all the way down to the shoulder junction they just size the part of the neck that fits into the bushing. Frequently there's a bulge under the bushing that doesn't get sized.Genuine question here. What is it about the honed Forster dies that eliminates the donut where a bushing die wouldn't?
Best description I have seen on how a bushing works. Thank you!Bushing dies don't actually size all the way down to the shoulder junction they just size the part of the neck that fits into the bushing. Frequently there's a bulge under the bushing that doesn't get sized.
With the honed die, your neck is sized to a value you specify allowing you to manage the neck tension without an extra step

I've always wondered why that is. Seems like one side of the bushing should have a 40 deg chamfer so that you can run it all the way down and size the entire neck.Bushing dies don't actually size all the way down to the shoulder junction they just size the part of the neck that fits into the bushing. Redding and Wilson bushings are the same, and probably some others. Forester dies and bushing are different and their bushings will not work in Wilson or Redding dies.Stupid question time. Does it take the same bushing as any of the other mfgs, or is Wilson's bushing design unique? Just curious.
Here is some good information on the BR Case.Since no vendor seems to clarify between Remington and Norma, can anyone recommend a FL bushing sizing die for a 22 BR Norma? Also, is there one brand that people tend to prefer for this cartridge over the others (Wilson, Forester, Redding)?
Thanks in advance!
Mark
I use a Redding die that I modified the shelf where the bushing sets. I forget exactly how much I removed but it sizes the neck all the way to the shoulder junction. There are others on here that posted this same mod.
